Our client is seeking an experienced desktop support professional to provide high-quality technology support across its global offices. This is a hands-on position within a fast-paced financial-services environment, supporting business users, senior stakeholders and remote employees across a broad range of workplace technologies.
The successful candidate will combine strong technical expertise with excellent customer-service skills and will take ownership of incidents, user requests, technology rollouts, office projects and day-to-day desktop operations.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver responsive end-user and desktop support to employees across multiple global locations, including remote users and senior stakeholders.
- Support and troubleshoot Microsoft Windows desktop environments and the Microsoft 365 application suite.
- Administer and maintain Microsoft AD and Exchange Online user accounts, permissions and related services.
- Manage and support virtual desktop environments, including Citrix Cloud and Microsoft Azure VDA/VDI platforms.
- Provide hardware support for HP workstations, HP thin clients, Lenovo laptops and associated peripherals.
- Support Cisco telephony solutions, including Cisco IP phones, Unified Communications Manager and Unity Connection.
- Manage and troubleshoot corporate mobile devices across iOS and Android through an enterprise MDM platform.
- Support video-conferencing and collaboration technologies.
- Provide user support for financial-market applications such as Bloomberg Anywhere and Bloomberg Terminal.
- Perform first-line network troubleshooting across DNS, DHCP, connectivity, network performance, VPN and VDI-related issues.
- Record, track and manage service requests through JIRA Service Management, ensuring issues are resolved promptly and documented thoroughly.
- Support office relocations, new office build-outs, desk moves and workplace technology deployments.
- Maintain accurate records for hardware inventory, equipment allocation and the full asset lifecycle.
- Coordinate technology requirements for employee onboarding, internal transfers and offboarding.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen support processes, improve service quality and automate repetitive activities.
- Work closely with global technology teams, vendors and business stakeholders to resolve complex incidents and deliver technology projects.
Requirements:
- Minimum 10 years desktop support experience at financial services industry
- Exceptional customer service with strong written and oral communication skills
- Strong problem-solving skills, high attention to detail and quick to learn both user and system environments
- Ability to work independently and multi-task
- Attention to detail, with commitment to follow through and follow-up
- Extensive understanding of desktop support standards and best practices including related hardware and software
- Knowledge of PowerShell, scripting, automation, and packaging (Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager) is a plus
- Travel may be required
