Hedge Fund Equity Senior Analyst / PM - Global Consumer (mandarin speaking role)

As part of its continued expansion, the firm is looking to add a senior Global Consumer investment professional to its investment team.
Role Overview
The firm is hiring an experienced Analyst or Portfolio Manager to cover Global Consumer sectors, with flexibility on seniority depending on experience and track record. The role will focus on identifying high-conviction investment opportunities across global consumer industries, with particular interest in large- and mega-cap companies.
Coverage may include (but is not limited to):
- European luxury goods
- US retailers, sportswear, and apparel
- Global online consumer and service platforms (e.g. e-commerce, streaming, subscription models)
This role offers the opportunity to deploy capital, influence portfolio positioning, and work closely with senior investment leadership in a collaborative, high-accountability environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct deep fundamental research across global consumer sectors and geographies.
- Generate differentiated, high-conviction long and short investment ideas.
- Build and maintain detailed financial models, valuation frameworks, and industry analyses.
- Track company fundamentals, earnings, industry trends, and competitive dynamics.
- Present investment theses clearly and rigorously to senior investment decision-makers.
- Contribute to portfolio construction, position sizing, and ongoing risk management.
- Collaborate closely with other regional and sector specialists across the firm.
Candidate Requirements
- 10+ years of total industry experience, with at least 3 years of buy-side experience (hedge fund - either deep fundamental L/S or market neutral L/S experience, or global top tier Long only).
- Proven coverage of Global Consumer sectors, such as: EU luxury goods, US consumer retail / sportswear / apparel, Online consumer services or platforms (e.g. e-commerce, subscription, digital services)
- Strong fundamental research and financial modelling capability.
- Experience covering large- and mega-cap companies preferred.
- Fluent Mandarin required for internal communication and team integration.
- Ability to operate independently, generate original insights, and take ownership of investment outcomes.
- Comfortable in a performance-driven, absolute-return mindset environment.
