About the Role
As an EHS Officer, you will be the key driver of workplace safety and environmental compliance at a major healthcare site. This role requires a proactive professional who can advise, implement, and monitor EHS standards while fostering a strong safety culture among staff and contractors. You will work closely with operations teams to ensure legal compliance and continuous improvement in health, safety, and environmental practices.
Responsibilities
- Advise the on-site team to discharge statutory duties under the WSH Act and assist in identifying workplace safety, health, and environmental risks.
- Recommend and implement necessary control measures to mitigate risks.
- Disseminate and implement updates on WSH Act, environmental, and other legal requirements.
- Conduct and review risk assessments, aspect and impact analyses, and recommend safe work procedures and environmental practices.
- Maintain EHS management system documents and ensure enforcement.
- Monitor and report EHS performance regularly, including timely incident investigations and reporting.
- Assist the Facilities & Ops Manager in rehearsing emergency response plans and procedures.
- Conduct environmental, health, and safety audits for site operations and recommend continual improvements.
- Qualify contractors and suppliers to ensure compliance with company EHS standards and policies.
- Review and identify safety competency training needs for site staff.
- Organize EHS outreach activities and promotional programs for ENGIE site staff.
- Perform any other ad-hoc duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in EHS roles, preferably within healthcare or IFM environments.
- Registered Workplace Safety & Health Officer with MOM.
- Ability to organize and conduct EHS-related training sessions.
- Skilled in establishing and maintaining records and quality documentation.
- Capable of attaining necessary permits and licenses.
- Proactive, independent, and able to work under pressure with minimal supervision.
- FSM experience preferred.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Demonstrates a strong safety mindset and good WSH behavior.
