Job Summary
The H&S (Health & Safety) Executive supports operational WSH management across multiple retail stores and distribution centres. The role focuses on incident management, team engagement, and practical risk control. The role will work closely with Operations Team, Store Managers, and other stakeholders to address safety risks, investigate incidents, and implement corrective actions to protect employees and customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular risk assessments and hazard identification for retail operations.
- Advise and ensure that operations comply with WSH regulations and safe work practices and, escalate serious risks when required
- Respond to, investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Oversee emergency preparedness plans, including fire drills and evacuation procedures.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of hazardous materials (fuel, cleaning chemicals, etc.).
- Deliver Health & Safety training programs for staff at all company premises.
- Promote a safety-first culture through awareness campaigns, regular engagement and toolbox talks.
- Ensure contractors and suppliers comply with Health & Safety requirements.
- Conduct scheduled site inspections and audits to verify compliance.
- Maintain accurate records of incidents, inspections, and corrective actions.
- Prepare monthly/quarterly Health & Safety performance reports for management.
- Work closely with Operations, HR, and Facilities teams to align safety practices.
- Support store and operations managers in implementing Health & Safety standards.
- Monitor contractor and maintenance works in stores and ensure proper permit-to-work and public safety controls are implemented.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities during inspections and certifications.
Key Requirements
- WSQ Specialist Diploma in Workplace Safety and Health or relevant qualification
- At least 3 years of experience in HSE / WSH roles, ideally in retail / logistics industries.
- Knowledge of workplace safety regulations compliance.
- Ability in engaging frontline supervisors and managers, team members and 3rd party vendors.
- Excellent communication, training, and report-writing skills.
- Ability to travel frequently across multiple sites locally.
- Ability to work independently.
- Experience in interacting with regulatory agencies such as MOM and SCDF.
Additional Information:
- Monday to Friday, 8.30am - 6pm
- Working Location: Tampines Region
- Salary: $4500 - $4800
- 12 months contract
