Head, Vietnam and Malaysia desk, Enterprise Banking International

Enterprise Banking International drives ASEAN - Greater China flows by providing seamless solutions to businesses to navigate the diverse and competitive ASEAN markets. We are looking for a dynamic and strategic senior person to join us on our journey as we expand and deepen the Vietnam and Malaysia corridor strategy.

The individual will drive Vietnam related business particularly Chinese manufacturing expanding to Vietnam and also Vietnamese flows into ASEAN in particularly the twin hubs of Singapore and Hong Kong.

For Malaysia, to also renew both the onshore and offshore strategy, ensuring a sustainable growth as one of our core markets.

You will have the opportunity to provide a wide range of regional cash management solutions, fulfil digitalization needs, financing solutions including Structured Finance, Cross-border financing, Capital Markets, and manage promoters personal and private needs in collaboration with OCBC Wealth management group (including Bank of Singapore)

What you do

• Own and lead the bank's Commercial Banking new built in Vietnam, as well as the existing Malaysian market with full P&L accountability

• Set direction on a lifecycle approach to support foreign enterprises expanding into Vietnam and Malaysia from onboarding to becoming a banking partner in the corporate's growth journey

• Build/manage a portfolio of new/existing inbound corporate relationships to and from Vietnam and Malaysia (both borrowing and non-borrowing)

• Work with overseas colleagues and product partners to identify and realize opportunities across the entire value chain in Singapore, ASEAN and international markets

• Senior client coverage in supporting Relationship managers in cross selling the full range of financial products and services, including capital markets, corporate finance and cash/wealth management products

• Drive credit proposals/discussions and overseeing the entire financing process through to legal documentation, implementation and on-going monitoring

• Senior stakeholder management in representing the Vietnam business at regional forums and leadership workshops

  Who you are

  • At least 15 years in Commercial banking with direct Vietnam/ Malaysia or Vietnam/ Malaysia corridor client experience

  • Recognized University Degree acceptable to the Bank

  • Strategic and forward looking in driving direction for both markets

  • Be a strong people leader, focusing on building expertise and growing the team

  • Strong data analytical skills, specialist industry knowledge are valued

  • Fluent Vietnamese and /or Mandarin will be a strong plus given the client base

  • Bilingual and bi-cultural candidates with familiarity of the Vietnam and Malaysia
