As the Head of Small Group Care (SGC), you will lead the Tier 2 Service consisting of a team of Social Workers, a psychologist and care staffs to provide appropriate level of care for Children and Young Persons with higher needs and who require a small group care for a limited period of 12 to 18months. The objective is to provide Trauma informed care in a safe environment to support CYPs recovery from their past traumatic experiences and promote overall well-being.
Your duties are (not limited to the following) include:
- Provide strategic leadership to build and sustain the SGC's capability to deliver high-quality care that meets the needs of children with higher levels of support requirements.
- Provide leadership for the day-to-day operations of SGC, ensuring the safety, well-being, and care of all clients are consistently upheld.
- Set and review targets and objectives of the SGC on a regular basis.
- Develop and review standard operating procedures(SOP) in compliance with MSF and licensing guidelines.
- Ensure that all staff are well-trained and abide by the SGC's philosophy, mission, objectives, and operating principles in carrying out their duties.
- Ensure that staff resources are adequate and plan staff rosters to promote efficient and effective service delivery
- Oversee and maintain positive relationships between staff members and between staff and clients, addressing and resolving any issues that arise.
- Provide oversight into the progress of intervention and casework to ensure that they are provided to enable timely rehabilitation and progress towards permanency.
- Plan and manage the budget of the SGC and follow proper accounting principles.
- Provide regular updates to MSF on client progress, as well as operational matters where relevant.
Requirements:
- Minimum degree (preferably in social work or psychology or equivalent qualification) with minimum 5 years of relevant working experience.
Demonstrates leadership qualities to lead and build capability of staff. - Strong ability to manage relationships and broker services with multiple stakeholders for SGC.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with emotional resilience to engage effectively with CYPs, families, colleagues.
- Vast experience in operational management of a residential facility.
- In-depth professional knowledge and understanding of children with high level of needs
- Demonstrates understanding of trauma, attachment and child and adolescent development.
- Alignment of personal values and philosophies to the treatment models for the SGC's target group.
Working hours:
Weekdays: 9am - 6 pm (8 hours)
The normal working hours are as stated above. However, staff are also expected to attend work events, support workers during home visits or managing crises that may arise outside of regular working hours, including at night. Flexible work arrangements and schedules will be made whenever necessary.
Total working hours per week: 42 hours
