Our client is a prominent and well-regarded fast-growing China-based wet grocery start-up expanding into Singapore. Due to business expansion, they are now looking to hire a Head of Warehouse to help set up and manage their distribution and warehouse processes. You will lead and scale our client first centralized or regional warehouse in Singapore. You will be responsible for designing robust processes, ensuring impeccable cold-chain performance, and enabling efficient delivery to front-line or customer-facing hubs across the local market.
Responsibilities:
- Warehouse Strategy & Setup: Lead the design, setup, and scaling of warehouse infrastructure-prioritize cold-chain integrity, throughput optimization, and safety.
- Operations Leadership: Oversee all aspects of operations such as receiving, storage, picking, packing, dispatch and ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and safety compliance.
- Team Management: Recruit, train, and mentor warehouse staff and supervisors. Foster a high-performance culture aligned with fast growth.
- Logistics Collaboration: Work closely with last-mile delivery, procurement, and supply chain teams to optimize flow and minimize lead times.
- Process & Data Systems: Establish and monitor KPIs (e.g., order accuracy, turnover, wastage rates). Implement WMS/ERP systems to drive efficiency gains.
- Cold Chain & Food Safety Compliance: Maintain high standards in handling fresh produce, adhere to regulations, and collaborate with audit partners.
- Supplier & 3PL Coordination: Manage relationships with suppliers, 3PLs, and cold storage stakeholders as needed.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive cost optimization, space utilization, and process innovation for faster fulfillment.
- Risk & Contingency Planning: Stay ahead of supply disruptions, manage seasonal demand, and support Singapore's dynamic market environment.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations, Engineering, or similar.
- Experience:
- 8-12 years in warehouse or logistics operations, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Experience with perishables, cold chain, FMCG, or grocery logistics is a strong plus.
- Skills:
- Strong leadership and team-building capability.
- Proficiency in WMS, ERP, and automated warehousing systems.
- Data-driven mindset and strong analytical capabilities.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with Singapore's regulations (e.g., food safety, MOM, workplace safety) is essential.
- Language: Fluent in English Mandarin proficiency is a definite advantage for liaising with the Chinese HQ.
