Head of Trade Finance

A well-established international banking platform is appointing a Head of Trade Finance to lead its Singapore-based trade business. This is a senior appointment with full responsibility for strategy, revenue growth, and governance across corporate and institutional client segments.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide leadership over the Trade Finance function, including documentary trade, guarantees, standby LCs, and structured trade solutions.
• Drive business growth through client portfolio expansion and new transaction origination.
• Oversee transaction structuring, credit submissions, and risk management in accordance with internal frameworks and regulatory standards.
• Work closely with internal stakeholders across relationship management, credit, compliance, and operations to deliver end-to-end trade solutions.
• Ensure strong governance, controls, and adherence to regulatory and compliance requirements in Singapore.
• Build and develop a technically strong, commercially focused trade finance team.
• Participate in senior-level client engagements and strategic initiatives as required.

Requirements

• Degree-qualified, preferably in Finance, Business, or a related discipline.
• 10–15+ years of trade finance experience within an international or wholesale banking environment.
• Proven track record leading trade finance teams and managing complex client portfolios.
• Strong technical expertise across trade products and documentation (e.g. LCs, guarantees, UCP600).
• Sound understanding of risk, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
• Strong commercial judgement and stakeholder management skills.
