Job Description

We are looking for a hands-on and experienced Head of Technical Operations & After Sales (Marine Services) for a well-established marine products and services company. This is a key leadership role for someone with strong technical depth and operational leadership experience in after-sales service, workshop operations, field service deployment, and customer support. He/she will lead the technical and after-sales function, drive service excellence, and ensure strong operational performance across repair, overhaul, troubleshooting, and maintenance activities.

The ideal candidate will come from a business involving heavy-duty mechanical systems, power-related equipment, or critical industrial assets, and will be comfortable operating in a fast-paced aftermarket and service-led environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical operations and after-sales function across workshop and field activities
  • Oversee complex troubleshooting, repair, overhaul, maintenance, and service execution
  • Act as a senior escalation point for critical operational and customer issues
  • Drive service quality, turnaround, utilisation, and operational discipline
  • Lead and develop a team of engineers, supervisors, and technicians
  • Partner cross-functionally to ensure strong execution, service responsiveness, and customer confidence
  • Own divisional performance metrics, budgeting, and P&L outcomes
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen recurring service revenue, operational efficiency, and overall service capability

Requirements

  • Proven leadership experience in technical service, after-sales, field operations, or engineering support
  • Background in heavy equipment, industrial systems, power-related equipment, or complex mechanical environments
  • Strong technical credibility with the ability to lead from the front when required
  • Experience managing customer-facing service operations in a time-sensitive setting
  • Solid commercial acumen, including exposure to service profitability, cost control, KPIs, and operational performance management
  • An ownership mindset, strong judgement, and the ability to build a high-accountability team culture
