Head/DY Head of Rail Supplies Management
Primary Objectives of Position
- Overall responsible for the Supply Chain Management of materials and services to support the maintenance and operation of rail and light rapid transit systems.
Major Responsibilities
- Lead and ensure the procurement of spares, tools, equipment, goods and services to support rail and light rapid transit maintenance operations.
- Ensure proper and efficient management of inventory, warehousing and logistics operations to ensure availability, accuracy and proper custodianship of materials.
- Ensure the proper management of sourcing, supplier management, obsolescence monitoring and vendor performance evaluation process.
- Establish and enforce procurement policies, controls and tender processes in line with governance and audit requirements.
- Drive cost optimization through strategic sourcing, negotiations and market analysis.
- Manage end-to-end purchasing operations, including tenders, quotations, invoice matching and payments are carried out in accordance to regulation and requirements.
- Oversee material catalogue, materials management systems and digital platforms to ensure data integrity and process efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements
- Oversee fleet/resource management, including tracking, utilization and maintenance of operational vehicles.
- Monitor performance, provide management reporting and drive continuous improvement across procurement, inventory and logistics functions.
- Undertake any assigned tasks by his supervisor
Job Specifications
- Recognized degree in Engineering or other related disciplines.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in contract and /or supplies management.
- Preferably with at least 7 years of experience in the railway Industry.
- Strong negotiating, planning, organizing and logistics management skills.
- Good leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Resourceful, self-motivated and results oriented.
- Good team player
