Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Origination &Execution
- Lead the origination, structuring, underwriting, and execution of syndicated loans and structured finance transactions on a global scale.
- Secure lead or co-lead roles in transactions to enhance differentiation while where appropriate capitalising on the sovereign mandate of headquarters (Korea)
- Oversee the full transaction lifecycle, including pitching, financial modelling, credit analysis, due diligence, documentation, and financial closing.
2. Syndication & Portfolio Management
- Lead underwriting and syndication strategies, including lender engagement and distribution
- Assess requests for consents, waivers, and amendments as part of robust portfolio management to protect the bank's assets.
- Establish and enhance front-office processes, including credit approval frameworks and documentation standards.
3. Strategic Liaison & Planning
- Serve as the primary liaison with our headquarters, coordinating business strategies and aligning local business plans with global objectives and policy frameworks.
- Drive new client/product development in line with the bank's strategic priorities and sustainability (ESG) goals.
- Manage strategic reporting and business development initiatives, facilitating communication to navigate complex cross-border financing.
4. Stakeholder &Relationship Management
- Maintain relationships with banks, sponsors, corporates and government-related entities
- Work closely with internal stakeholders (risk, compliance, etc.) to ensure full adherence to internal policies and regulatory requirements in Singapore and other jurisdictions.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of structured finance professionals
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Engineering, Law, or related field MBA or equivalent preferred
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in structured finance / project finance, or related functions such as credit assessment and legal review.
- Proven track record of successful financial closings, including experience with international / regional financial sponsors, corporates and government entities
- Strong financial modelling, credit analysis and documentation expertise
- Proven leadership experience managing senior teams and complex transactions
- Experience navigating Korean regulatory and policy frameworks in the context of cross-border financing
- Proficiency in business Korean is essential to support coordination with headquarters and Korean counterparts
- Familiarity and experience with ECA backed financing and other agency financing would be advantageous
