Head of Software Engineering, B2B Technology

We are partnering with a leading B2B Technology company to look for a Head of Software Engineering, a newly created leadership position designed to drive innovation and shape the future of its commercial product portfolio. This role sits at the intersection of strategy, product, and engineering, with a strong mandate to build and scale new solutions, particularly across AI domains.

Key Responsibilities:

In this role, you will define and execute the technical roadmap while leading a distributed engineering team across regional and offshore teams. You will spearhead the development of new, market-facing products from the ground up, fostering an entrepreneurial and product-centric culture within the engineering function. Working closely with cross-functional stakeholders across multiple business units, you will align engineering efforts with commercial objectives, while also integrating and optimising offshore development capabilities to drive delivery at scale. This role will also play a key part in shaping team structure, mentoring senior technical leaders, and elevating overall engineering maturity.

Requirements:

Ideal candidates must be a hands-on software engineering leader with over 12 years of experience, with a strong foundation in software engineering leadership within B2B or technology-driven environments. You must have a proven experience in building and scaling products, ideally with exposure to AI and emerging technologies, as well as experience working with offshore development teams. A collaborative and entrepreneurial mindset is critical, along with the ability to navigate ambiguity and influence senior stakeholders.
