The Head of Southeast Asia (SEA), Alternative Fund Services (AFS) is a senior leadership role responsible for driving the strategic growth, operational excellence, and client delivery of the AFS business across the SEA region. This individual will oversee multiple country operations, lead senior management teams, and serve as the primary executive interface for key clients and stakeholders.
Reporting to the CEO, the role will play a critical part in expanding the firm's private equity and alternative investment fund servicing capabilities, strengthening market presence, and ensuring best-in-class service delivery across the region.
- Define and execute the SEA regional strategy for Alternative Fund Services in alignment with global business objectives.
- Drive revenue growth, profitability, and market expansion across SEA markets.
- Identify new business opportunities and lead high-value client acquisition efforts, including participating in pitch presentations and strategic negotiations.
- Strengthen the firm's brand positioning within private equity, venture capital, and alternative investments sectors.
- Act as the senior relationship owner for key regional clients, ensuring long-term partnerships and high client satisfaction.
- Provide strategic advisory to clients on fund structures, operating models, and regulatory considerations.
- Represent the organisation at industry events, conferences, and regulatory engagements.
- Oversee end-to-end service delivery across SEA, ensuring timeliness, accuracy, and compliance of all fund administration and reporting processes.
- Establish and maintain robust governance, risk management, and internal control frameworks.
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards (e.g. US GAAP, IFRS) and regulatory requirements across jurisdictions.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, scalability, and automation.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of country heads, senior managers, and fund accounting professionals across SEA.
- Build strong leadership bench strength and succession planning across the region.
- Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture aligned with company values.
- Work closely with global and cross-regional teams to implement consistent operating models, systems, and best practices.
- Lead the setup and onboarding of new client structures across multiple jurisdictions.
- Collaborate with technology teams to enhance our fund accounting system and digital capabilities
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
- Professional accounting qualification (CPA, CA, ACCA or equivalent) is highly preferred.
- Minimum 18–20 years of experience in fund administration, alternative investments, or asset management, with deep expertise in private equity/venture capital.
- Proven track record in leading regional or multi-country teams within financial services.
- Strong knowledge of accounting frameworks (US GAAP, IFRS) and fund structures.
