They are seeking a Head of Robotics (Artificial Intelligence), a senior leadership role responsible for shaping, scaling, and governing enterprise-wide AI, robotics, and intelligent automation capabilities.
This is a highly visible role for a technology and innovation leader who can bring together AI strategy, robotics engineering, automation, data platforms, product thinking, and enterprise transformation.
The successful candidate will lead the development of scalable, production-grade AI and robotics solutions that drive business impact across operations, customer solutions, industry platforms, and future-ready digital services.
Reporting to senior technology and business leadership, this role will be central to defining the organisation's AI and Robotics agenda, building a high-performing Centre of Excellence, and translating advanced technologies into practical, ethical, and commercially relevant outcomes.
AI & Robotics Strategy
- Define and lead the enterprise AI and Robotics strategy, roadmap, governance model, and execution priorities.
- Establish the AI & Robotics Centre of Excellence, setting standards for solution design, engineering practices, responsible AI, experimentation, and scalable deployment.
- Partner closely with senior business, product, engineering, data, digital, and operations leaders to identify high-impact opportunities where AI, robotics, and automation can create measurable value.
- Drive the adoption of next-generation AI technologies, including GenAI, LLMs, AI agents, computer vision, autonomous workflows, intelligent automation, and robotics platforms.
- Shape the organisation's long-term innovation agenda across AI-enabled operations, robotics deployment, digital labour, human-machine collaboration, and enterprise productivity.
AI, Robotics & Intelligent Automation Delivery
- Lead the development and deployment of AI and robotics use cases across areas such as intelligent automation, computer vision, autonomous systems, predictive analytics, decisioning engines, simulation, optimisation, and robotic process or physical automation.
- Build reusable AI and robotics frameworks, platforms, tools, and accelerators that can be scaled across business units and geographies.
- Ensure AI and robotics solutions are scalable, secure, resilient, cost-effective, and aligned with enterprise architecture and governance requirements.
- Translate complex business problems into practical technical solutions, balancing innovation, risk, feasibility, and business value.
Platform, Data & Engineering Leadership
- Define the architecture for scalable AI, data, robotics, and automation platforms across cloud, hybrid, and enterprise environments.
- Oversee the development of robust data pipelines, feature stores, model-serving infrastructure, robotics control systems, simulation environments, and integration patterns.
- Drive engineering excellence across AI/ML systems, robotics software, computer vision, APIs, orchestration layers, CI/CD, DevOps, and automated testing.
- Ensure strong alignment between data platforms, AI systems, robotics platforms, enterprise applications, and operational technology environments.
- Establish standards for reusable, modular, and composable AI and robotics solutions.
Innovation, Ecosystem & External Partnerships
- Build and nurture a strong partner ecosystem across AI vendors, robotics technology providers, academic institutions, research partners, start-ups, and industry innovation networks.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and translate them into practical enterprise use cases.
- Lead proof-of-concepts, pilots, experimentation sprints, and scale-up plans for AI and robotics initiatives.
- Represent the organisation as a thought leader in AI, robotics, intelligent automation, and digital transformation.
Global Team Leadership
- Build, lead, mentor, and retain high-performing AI, robotics, data science, product, and engineering teams.
- Create a culture of experimentation, engineering excellence, responsible innovation, operational discipline, and continuous learning.
- Develop capability-building pathways to uplift AI and robotics maturity across the organisation.
- Collaborate effectively across geographies, business units, and functions to drive consistent execution and measurable outcomes.
Key Requirements
- Relevant experience across AI, machine learning, robotics, automation, data platforms, engineering, or enterprise technology leadership.
- Proven track record in building and scaling AI, robotics, intelligent automation, or advanced analytics capabilities in complex enterprise environments.
- Hands-on appreciation of modern AI and Robotics engineering stacks
- Experience with robotics-related technologies such as robotic systems integration, autonomous systems, sensors, perception, control systems, ROS or equivalent robotics frameworks would be highly valued.
- Strong enterprise architecture mindset, with the ability to align AI, robotics, data, cloud, security, and business systems.
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and translate complex technical topics into clear business value.
- Experience leading cross-functional and multi-geography teams, including internal teams, external partners, vendors, and research collaborators.
