Title: Head of Procurement (Market Leader in Healthcare Services sector)

About the Role
Our client is a market leader in the healthcare services sector, with a strong and growing presence across its markets. As the organisation continues to evolve, they are looking to appoint a Head of Procurement to elevate the procurement function from operational excellence to strategic value creation.
This is a key leadership role responsible for strengthening procurement governance, driving commercial value, optimising costs and developing strategic supplier partnerships. The successful candidate will work closely with senior stakeholders across the organisation to build a more strategic, data-driven and value-focused procurement function.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and strengthen the organisation's procurement strategy, framework and governance, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives, internal controls and industry best practices.
- Partner with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams to understand business requirements, influence demand and develop procurement strategies that deliver optimal commercial and operational outcomes.
- Lead the end-to-end procurement lifecycle, from requirements gathering and sourcing strategy through supplier evaluation, tender management, negotiation and contract award.
- Drive cost optimisation and value creation through spend analysis, demand consolidation, strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) analysis.
- Establish robust procurement policies, processes and approval frameworks, ensuring appropriate governance, compliance and transparency across the organisation.
- Strengthen supplier management and strategic partnerships, including supplier performance, commercial terms, risk management and opportunities for long-term value creation.
- Identify and proactively manage procurement and supply risks, ensuring appropriate mitigation strategies and business continuity measures are in place.
- Lead, develop and strengthen the capabilities of the Procurement team, fostering a culture of commercial excellence, accountability and continuous improvement.
- Establish meaningful procurement KPIs and performance reporting, providing management with clear visibility of spend, savings, supplier performance and value delivered.
- Drive continuous improvement and digitalisation of procurement processes, including the effective utilisation of e-Procurement and ERP systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree with 10–12 years of relevant procurement experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership or team management capacity.
- Strong end-to-end procurement experience, ideally gained in a complex, multi-site organisation.
- Experience within healthcare, healthcare services or a highly regulated environment will be highly advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of procurement governance, policies, approval frameworks, compliance and internal controls.
- Demonstrated track record in strategic sourcing, cost optimisation, complex negotiations and contract management.
- Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to translate procurement initiatives into measurable business and financial value.
- A solution-oriented and pragmatic mindset, with the ability to navigate complex stakeholder and business requirements.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders across all levels of the organisation.
- Strong people leadership skills, with a track record of developing procurement teams and building organisational capability.
- Good understanding of e-Procurement platforms and/or ERP systems is highly preferred.
