What we're looking for
We're seeking a strong, highly driven individual to join OXZ Capital as part of our People & Culture leadership team. This role will sit at the group level, supporting OXZ Capital and working closely with leadership teams across our portfolio companies operating in Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, and the Philippines.
OXZ Capital backs and operates fast-scaling businesses in high-growth, high-change environments, including a B2B fintech platform processing over US$2B in annual transaction volume and continuing to scale rapidly. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building and owning people systems, not just running day-to-day HR tasks.
You will be responsible for shaping and driving core People & Culture initiatives across the employee lifecycle, covering talent acquisition, onboarding, performance management, compensation, HR operations, and culture. Working closely with founders, country leads, and functional heads, you will ensure people practices are consistent, scalable, compliant, and practical, while remaining grounded in real business needs and employee experience.

Responsibilities:
1) Group People Strategy & Governance
- Work closely with C-Suite to define and own the group-wide people strategy for OXZ Capital and it's 100% owned portfolio companies.
- Establish and standardize core HR policies, processes, and governance (with local adaptations where required).
- Partner with leadership on workforce planning, org design, and talent allocation aligned with business growth and priorities.
2) Talent Acquisition & Leadership Hiring
- Own the end-to-end hiring strategy across corporate, technology, and leadership roles at group and portfolio levels.Own regional hiring strategy across corporate and tech functions (based on business needs).
- Improve recruitment turnaround time, hiring quality, and candidate experience.
- Partner with hiring managers to strengthen selection processes and decision-making.
- Build and manage internal recruiting capability and external partners where required.
3) Culture, Engagement & Retention
- Shape and embed a strong, performance-oriented culture across geographies and teams
- Design engagement initiatives that are practical, scalable, and aligned with business realities.
- Support leaders in building high-trust, high-accountability teams.
- Identify retention risks early and proactively address people and culture challenges
4) HR Transformation & Change Management
- Lead HR transformation projects (process improvement, system implementation, org changes).
- Build scalable HR practices that support growth, restructuring, and integration across entities.
- Ensure HR data, reporting, and insights support leadership decision-making.
5) Stakeholder & Leadership Partnership
- Act as a trusted advisor to leadership on people strategy, organization health, and workforce risks.
- Guide leaders in managing performance issues, capability gaps, and team effectiveness.
- Collaborate across entities to ensure alignment while respecting local realities.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in People & Culture / HR roles within tech, fintech, startup, or high-growth environments, with exposure to fast-changing, performance-driven organizations
- Experience operating in a regional or multi-entity setup is strongly preferred, including collaboration across different countries or business units.
- Solid working knowledge of employment regulations and HR practices in at least one Southeast Asia market; familiarity with Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, and/or the Philippines is a strong advantage.
- Strong capability to think strategically while executing hands-on, with comfort moving between planning, problem-solving, and day-to-day execution.
- Highly adaptive, resourceful, and comfortable with ambiguity, with the ability to make sound decisions without excessive structure.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, able to work confidently with founders, executives, managers, and employees across functions and cultures
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Self-driven, curious, and versatile. Someone who enjoys learning new domains, stepping into unfamiliar situations, and figuring things out quickly.
