Job Description

Significant travel across Southeast Asia.

Matchii is the new way to hire agencies. Matched, not browsed.

Buyers describe what they need and the right team appears — vetted to a single bar, priced against real benchmark data, backed by outcome insurance. That promise only holds if the right agencies are on the platform when the brief lands.

For agencies, the offer is simple: briefs arrive funded, payment is guaranteed, and the pipeline stops being a prayer. No cold pitching, no ghosted proposals, no chasing invoices.

Somebody has to go and build that supply base, one founder at a time. That's this job.

Mission

Recruit and hold the partner network the marketplace runs on. Sign the agencies, get them live, keep them delivering — and build the signed order book that the rest of the company is gated on.

Role summary

You own the supply side end to end, from the first handshake with an agency founder to ongoing account health. Two motions:

Land. Sign the partner cohort — a named, tiered network of agencies across Southeast Asia, recruited founder-to-founder.

Keep. Onboard them, activate them, and grow revenue per partner. Signing is not the win. A partner delivering work and coming back is.

You carry both personally at the start. Your first hire is an Account Manager, who takes over partner health as the cohort goes live and frees you to stay on the land motion. You report to the Head of Strategic Growth and work in lockstep with the Head of Success, who owns the demand side — the two roles pace each other.

The demand side is a sibling role, not yours. This one is supply, and it is the gate: no supply, no order book.

What you'll own

  • The signed order book. The number you carry. Partners signed, work routed, revenue delivered. You build it, you report it, and it is the single measure of whether this worked.
  • Founder-to-founder recruitment. No decks, no tier sheets in the room. You sit down with agency founders and map their revenue bottlenecks, then show them what a funded brief pipeline does to that problem. For the top tiers, in person is non-negotiable — you get on the plane first, because reciprocity builds loyalty.
  • The roadshow. Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, the Philippines, with Singapore as home base. Roughly a trip a month, four nights on the ground, co-travelling with a founder. You'll build the market plan and the hit list, and you'll live in it.
  • The tiered partner network. Founding contributors who help build the category in exchange for priority routing and product influence. Anchor agencies whose names make the marketplace believable. Paying tiers underneath, plus an open pool for long-tail liquidity. You design who sits where and what each tier is owed.
  • The quality bar. Vetting is the brand. Every agency you sign is a bet the buyer side pays for if it's wrong. You own the rubric, the scoring matrix, and the discipline to turn down volume that doesn't clear it.
  • Supply-demand balance. Sign no faster than demand can feed. Over-signing starves the network and churns the partners you worked hardest to land. Knowing when not to close is part of the job.
  • The playbook, from zero. Outreach scripts, CRM pipeline, partner scoring, contribution scopes, the vetting rubric, the partner handbook, the onboarding and activation flow. None of it exists. You write it.
  • The team. Hands-on now. Your first hire is an Account Manager on partner health; you set the bar for who comes after.

Who we're looking for

  • You come from the agency world. You've run one, owned one, worked inside one, or spent years selling to and building with them. This is a hard requirement. You need to know how an agency actually makes money, where the pain lives, and what a founder is really worried about at 2am — because you'll be asking them to bet on us.
  • 8+ years in partnerships, business development, or founder-led sales, with real ownership of a signed number.
  • You have built a supply base or partner network from scratch — sourced, closed, and kept it alive.
  • Credible in a room with agency founders. You can talk margin, utilisation, pipeline and payroll without faking it, and you'd rather map their P&L than present a deck.
  • You close in person and you'll get on the plane. Regular travel across SEA is the job, not a perk.
  • Marketplace or two-sided platform experience, ideally on the supply side. You understand liquidity, and you understand why over-signing kills a network.
  • Operator's grip on the numbers: pipeline conversion, activation, retention, revenue per partner.
  • Comfortable in high ambiguity. Zero to one, no playbook waiting for you.
  • Southeast Asia network and market fluency. You know the agency landscape in at least two of Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, the Philippines, or Singapore.
  • Excellent English. Additional regional languages a strong plus.

Preferred

  • Existing relationships with regional agency founders or creative networks.
  • Strong with CRM and outbound tooling. Attio, HeyReach, or similar.
  • You've hired and managed a small commercial team.

Why this, why now

Great agencies still win work the way they did twenty years ago: cold pitches, blind RFPs, gut-feel referrals. We're replacing that with matched, funded briefs — and the agencies who get in first define what the standard looks like.

The buyer side is being built alongside you. The supply side has nobody. That's the seat.

How we hire

  1. Intro call (30 min).
  2. Founder call: the thesis and what you've built.
  3. Assessment.
  4. References and offer.
