Head of Liquidity

Company Description Sera Protocol targets the multi-trillion-dollar cross-border FX and payments market, serving payment service providers, payroll platforms, remittance services, and merchants. The company addresses the inefficiencies of today's FX landscape, which is often layered, slow, and expensive. Sera Protocol operates as a non-custodial stablecoin FX settlement layer that reduces intermediaries and complexity. Its protocol delivers corridor-aware pricing near interbank rates and enables near-instant settlement. This approach aims to unlock real-world utility for stablecoins beyond trading and transform the global FX and payments infrastructure.

Role Description The Head of Liquidity is a full-time, on-site role based in Kuala Lumpur, responsible for designing and executing the liquidity strategy across Sera Protocol's FX and payments corridors. This role will oversee liquidity provisioning, market-making relationships, and treasury flows to ensure deep, efficient markets and tight spreads across all supported currency pairs and stablecoins. The Head of Liquidity will monitor key liquidity metrics, manage risk exposures, optimize capital deployment, and coordinate execution across centralized and decentralized venues. They will collaborate closely with product, engineering, BD, and compliance to launch new corridors, onboard institutional partners, and align liquidity programs with regulatory and operational requirements. The person in this role will also lead a small team, establish best practices for liquidity management, and communicate performance, risks, and opportunities to the leadership team and key stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Strong expertise in FX, stablecoins, and digital asset market microstructure, including order books, spreads, slippage, and liquidity depth.
• Proven experience in liquidity management, market making, or treasury functions at a financial institution, trading firm, or crypto/DeFi protocol.
• Close relationship with Liquidity Providers
• Familiarity with DeFi protocols, on-chain liquidity mechanisms (e.g., AMMs, liquidity pools), and centralized exchange market dynamics.
• Demonstrated ability to design and manage incentive programs for liquidity providers, including structuring rewards and measuring program impact.
• Experience managing counterparty risk, FX risk, and operational risk in a fast-moving, regulated or semi-regulated environment.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally with product, engineering, business development, and compliance teams.
• Leadership experience, including building or managing small teams and setting clear goals, processes, and performance metrics.
• Excellent communication skills in English, with the capacity to explain complex liquidity and market concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
