Role Purpose:
The Head of IT manages technology delivery and operations . This role focuses on implementation and managing systems architecture that supports the highest levels of operational excellence and bespoke/flexible service expected by our High Net-Worth distributors and customers. The role involves executing regional/global technology standards while ensuring technology services meet local business needs.
The position emphasizes operational excellence, service delivery, and business partnership with a strong desire to stay ahead/differentiated from competition in terms of operational and systems support.
Key Accountabilities
IT Service Delivery & Operations
Build and maintain systems architecture that supports the highest levels of operational excellence and bespoke/flexible service.
- Ensure reliable delivery of IT services to the LBU (measured via operational KPIs e.g. service level agreement standards business user satisfaction scores)
- Manage local IT infrastructure and applications
- Oversee incident, problem, and change management processes (measured via Incident resolution times and first-call resolution rates)
- Coordinate with regional shared services for specialized support
- Manage local vendors and service providers
Business Partnership
Work with the leadership team to translate their vision/requirements into an effective systems and operational solution supporting business improvement initiatives and expansion plans.
- Act as primary IT contact for BU leadership
- Translate business requirements into technology solutions
- Support local business process improvement initiatives
- Train and support business users on technology solutions
- Manage small local projects ( $500K)
Compliance & Standards
Define and implement IT frameworks, processes and models aligned with business objectives, global technology standards and regulatory requirements.
- Implement and enforce global/regional technology standards
- Ensure local compliance with policies and controls
- Execute cybersecurity measures at LBU level
- Maintain local documentation and procedures
- Undertake Global Information Security Officer role effectively with no adverse audit or regulatory findings on IT/information security matters
Financial Management
Ensure effective procedures are in place to set and operate IT budget within approved levels.
- Manage local IT budget to within approved annual budget
- Track and report on local IT expenditures
- Optimize local technology costs
Team Management
Build and lead an effective and high-performance IT team supporting staff across Bermuda, Singapore and Hong Kong.
- Define and lead the team across Bermuda, Hong Kong and Singapore
- Develop team capabilities and skills
- Foster service-oriented culture
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science or related field

- Fluency in English willingness to travel as required.
- Technology Engineering and Integration: Extensive experience in engineering and integrating advanced technologies into business processes.
- Operational Impact Analysis: Strong background in understanding and visualizing the operational impacts of digital initiatives.
- Data Analytics: Expertise in data analytics and data-driven decision-making.
- Project Management: Strong project management skills with experience managing large-scale digital projects.
- Stakeholder Management: Proven ability to collaborate with and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of the insurance industry and its digital transformation needs.
