Job Description

Job Purpose

Responsible for defining the strategic direction, governance, design, delivery, and operations of enterprise-wide IT infrastructure.

This role ensures infrastructure platforms are resilient, secure, scalable, cost-efficient, and compliant while enabling business growth, digital transformation, and regulatory requirements.

The position holds end-to-end accountability for infrastructure engineering, operations, service reliability, and modernization across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments, in collaboration with architecture, security, risk, delivery, and business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure Strategy & Enterprise Alignment

  • Define and govern enterprise infrastructure strategy, operating model, and multi-year roadmap across compute, storage, network, data centres, cloud, platforms, end-user services, and service management.
  • Ensure alignment with business priorities, technology direction, risk appetite, and regulatory requirements.
  • Drive infrastructure investments aligned to business objectives and compliance needs.

Infrastructure Delivery & Technical Leadership

  • Provide executive oversight and technical leadership for infrastructure initiatives and projects.
  • Act as the authority for complex, high-impact infrastructure decisions.
  • Ensure solutions are resilient, secure, scalable, cost-effective, and operationally ready.
  • Drive successful and timely delivery of infrastructure programs.

Service Operations, Availability & Reliability

  • Ensure high availability, stability, and performance of infrastructure services in a 24x7 environment.
  • Oversee major incidents, systemic issues, and root cause remediation.
  • Continuously improve service reliability and operational effectiveness.

Security, Risk & Compliance

  • Own infrastructure-related security controls, regulatory compliance, and audit readiness.
  • Oversee remediation of audit findings and control gaps.
  • Partner closely with security, risk, and compliance teams to strengthen governance and controls.

Transformation & Modernisation

  • Lead infrastructure modernization initiatives including cloud adoption, automation, platform transformation, and technical debt reduction.
  • Ensure infrastructure capabilities support digital, application, and data transformation objectives.

Financial & Vendor Management

  • Manage infrastructure operating and capital expenditure within approved budgets.
  • Drive cost optimization through automation, standardization, sourcing strategies, and lifecycle management.
  • Oversee vendor performance, contracts, and value realization.

Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery

  • Establish resilience, business continuity, and disaster recovery strategies and standards.
  • Ensure regular testing, validation, and reporting of recovery capabilities.
  • Maintain organizational readiness for major disruptions.

Leadership & Talent Development

  • Lead and develop high-performing infrastructure engineering and operations teams.
  • Build succession pipelines and strengthen leadership capability.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and ownership.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.

Experience

  • Minimum 12 years of experience leading enterprise infrastructure functions within a large organization.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale infrastructure environments covering data centres, networks, platforms, cloud services, workplace technologies, and service operations.
  • Strong track record in infrastructure transformation, modernization, and operational excellence.
