Head of Human Resources (Start-up - PE Invested Business)
Our client is a leading player in its sector and isa newly established operating company backed by a large global PE firm. They are setting up their platform company and are looking to hire a Head of HR to build policies, processes, organisational structure and eventually build a high-performing HRBP team.
- Strong knowledge of and experience across SEA markets is essential.
- You must have experience working in a start-up environment and have successfully scaled a company from a small-to mid-sized organisation.
- The ability to operate both hands-on and strategically, with strong senior stakeholder management skills, is essential.
Reports To: Chief Executive Officer (CEO) & Board (Private Equity)
Job Summary: The Head of HR will spearhead the company's human capital initiatives, aligning HR objectives with overall business goals. This leader champions workplace culture, ensures legal and regulatory compliance, and drives programs to attract, develop, and retain top-tier talent.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic HR Leadership
- Partner with the executive leadership team to build and scale the organization's people strategy in support of overall growth objectives
- Develop workforce planning strategies to identify future talent gaps and organizational design needs.
- Oversee the HR department's daily operations, including managing the HR team, HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems) data, and performance metrics.
2. Talent Acquisition & Management
- Craft compelling recruitment strategies that build strong talent pipelines.
- Oversee the end-to-end hiring process, ensuring high-quality selection, seamless onboarding, and effective employer branding.
- Champion career development, mentorship programs, and succession planning.
3. Compensation, Benefits, & Total Rewards
- Design and execute competitive salary bands, bonus structures, and equity plans.
- Collaborate with external partners to administer comprehensive and cost-effective benefits packages.
4. Culture, Engagement, & Employee Relations
- Champion and define the company's core values, and promote a diverse, inclusive, and highly engaged work environment.
- Provide guidance and conflict resolution on complex employee relations issues and escalated workplace grievances.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (a Master's degree or professional certifications such as SHRM-SCP or SPHR are highly preferred).
- Experience: 10+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3–5 years in a senior leadership role (e.g., HR Director or Head of HR).
- Business Acumen: Deep understanding of financial metrics, business models, and how people investments impact the bottom line.
- Communication & Influence: Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, and executive-level communication skills.
- Technology: Proficiency with HRIS platforms (e.g., Workday, BambooHR), HR analytics, and modern workplace software.
