Job Description

My client is a foreign wholesale bank with a growing regional presence. They are looking for a driven HR professional to join the Singapore Branch as the Head of Human Resources (HR).

Reporting to the Singapore Country Officer and a functional reporting to HQ HR, the Head of HR will lead the Human Resources function for the Singapore office. This role is pivotal in shaping people strategy, ensuring compliance with local regulations, and driving organizational culture. The successful candidate will oversee a small team and act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic HR Leadership: Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with business objectives and global HR frameworks.
  • Talent Management: Drive recruitment, succession planning, and workforce development to attract and retain top talent.
  • Employee Relations: Foster a positive workplace culture, manage employee engagement initiatives, and resolve workplace issues effectively.
  • Performance Management: Oversee performance appraisal processes, ensuring fairness, transparency, and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Compensation & Benefits: Manage salary structures, incentive programs, and benefits packages in line with market competitiveness and regulatory requirements.
  • Compliance & Governance: Ensure adherence to Singapore's employment laws, MAS regulations, and internal governance standards.
  • Learning & Development: Champion training initiatives to build capabilities and support career growth.
  • HR Operations: Oversee payroll, HRIS, and day-to-day HR administration with efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Around 15 years of HR experience, with some years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of Singapore employment laws and regulatory frameworks.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, influence senior stakeholders, and drive organizational change.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
