JOB OBJECTIVE
Based in Singapore, this regional and national leadership role will shape and elevate HSE roadmaps and performance across various countries in Asia, with a special focus on Singapore and its various sites.
You will lead with influence at the highest levels, partnering with executives, engaging regulators, and driving a high-performance safety culture across our industrial manufacturing sites and various facilities.
Roles & Responsibilities
Regional Role Main Areas
- Assess the areas of risks in Asia; propose and agree with the Region's Operations Director the appropriate plans and localization of resources, training plans to develop skills, as well as the appropriate HSE specific targets for the region
- Ensure the cascading of Corporate function targets, information, and requests, and the sharing of best practices across the network of HSEs in Asia
- Mentor and coach HSE managers and coordinators to accelerate the development of their skills and the transformation
- Monitor with the HSE network the progress of the improvement plan and the KPIs in line with the annual HSE targets; support HSE managers with Region & Country Management to implement the plan; alert the Operations Director on risks to deviate from targets; and support the elaboration of the action plan
Country Role Main Areas
- Define, implement, and continuously improve the site and operational HSE strategy and program, in accordance with Thales Group and GBU standards and local regulatory requirements
- Maintain ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certifications for relevant sites and activities, ensuring ongoing compliance with certification requirements, including ownership of HSE Chorus documents and timely closure of any corrective action stemming from audits (internal or external)
- Regularly assess compliance with all applicable occupational safety, health, and environmental regulations; develop and track mitigation plans for any identified gaps
- Support regulatory compliance assessment of products (e.g., REACH, RoHS, PFAS, hazardous substances, eco-design, energy, dismantling, and end-of-life management)
- Collaborate with Industrial Operations, Engineering, and other stakeholders to define eco-design needs, circular economy initiatives, substitution work, and scope 3 reduction roadmap
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define a CSR roadmap and manage implementation supporting the TT Protect 2030 objectives
Business Continuity Management
- Coordinate and deploy the BCM program (training, administration, exercise, monitoring) with functions and business units in Asia, ensuring validity of the Business Impact Analysis, Business Continuity Plans, Emergency Response Plans, and Disaster Recovery Plans
- Maintain close relationships with Real Estate and Security Managers
- Together with the Asia Security Manager, support the Crisis Management Team for response to unforeseen events that could lead to business disruptions
Skills & Work Experience Requirements
- Proven HSE leadership experience (oil & gas, manufacturing, industrial)
- Track record in leading HSE teams to deliver sustainable improvements in performance
- Proven success leading cultural transformation across multi-site operations
- Executive-level stakeholder engagement experience
- Deep experience in safety management systems and risk management
- Investigation and audit leadership capability
- Experience with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 systems
- Strong data-driven decision-making
Qualification, Certification & Educational Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Engineering, or a related field
- Postgraduate qualifications and professional certifications are highly regarded
- Minimum of 8+ years of progressive experience in health, safety, and environment management, preferably within the Aerospace Industry
- Proven experience managing compliance with local, national, and international HSE regulations and standards
- Strong knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and standards related to workplace health, safety, environmental protection, product safety, and emergency management
- Proficiency with HSE management systems and software tools
- Project management skills for overseeing compliance initiatives and business continuity plans
