About the role
As Head of Funds, Singapore, you will play a pivotal role in establishing and growing Suntera's funds presence in Singapore as part of a strategic expansion across Asia. This is a startup leadership role, responsible for building the funds administration capability from the ground up, developing a sustainable operating model, and positioning Suntera as a credible and trusted provider in the Singapore and wider Asian funds market.
With a primary focus on alternative investment structures including private equity, real estate, venture capital, debt, and infrastructure funds, you will be accountable for setting the strategic direction, building the local team, and embedding robust governance, risk management, and regulatory frameworks in line with MAS requirements and Suntera's global standards. Working closely with Compliance, Risk, and global funds leadership, you will establish a strong, complianceled culture from inception.
The role will also have a significant commercial and marketfacing element. You will lead business development activity in the region, develop key relationships with fund managers, advisers, and intermediaries, and actively contribute to the growth of Suntera's global funds proposition. As the senior funds representative in Singapore, you will act as a key ambassador for the Group in the local market.
- Establish and lead Suntera's funds administration business in Singapore, building the jurisdiction from startup to a scalable, sustainable operation.
- Define and execute the strategic growth plan for the Singapore funds business, aligned with Suntera's global funds strategy.
- Build, lead and develop a highperforming local funds team, ensuring appropriate capability, capacity and succession planning.
- Design and implement a robust operating model, including policies, procedures, systems, controls and risk management frameworks, in line with MAS regulatory requirements and Suntera global standards.
- Act as senior point of contact for regulators, auditors and key stakeholders, embedding a strong, complianceled culture from inception.
- Lead and support business development activity in the region, working closely with the Global Head of Business Development for Funds to win new mandates.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with fund managers, law firms, advisers, banks and intermediaries across Singapore and the wider AsiaPacific market.
- Take ownership of the Singapore funds budget, including revenue forecasting, cost control and financial performance.
- Act as a director of the regulated funds business and, where appropriate, serve as a director for client structures.
- Collaborate with global funds leadership and crossjurisdictional teams to develop a bestinclass, globally consistent funds offering.
About You
Skills and Requirements:
- Significant experience (typically 10+ years) in fund administration, with strong exposure to alternative investment structures, including private equity, venture capital, real estate, debt and infrastructure funds.
- Proven track record of building or scaling a funds business, ideally within a startup, growth, or newjurisdiction environment.
- Strong working knowledge of Singapore fund regulations and MAS requirements.
- Recognised professional qualification (e.g. ACCA, STEP, ICSA, law or accountancy degree) or equivalent.
