Key Job Responsibilities
1. Financial Management
- Lead overall financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and cost management for YWCA and YWCA Fort Canning Hotel.
- Ensure prudent use of funds in alignment with YWCA's mission, governance standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee financial reporting, month-end and year-end closing, audits, and statutory compliance.
- Identify financial risks and implement controls to safeguard organizational assets.
2. Sales Management
- Partner closely with hospitality and programme teams to support pricing, sales performance, and financial viability.
- Monitor revenue performance of YWCA Fort Canning Hotel and YWCA-related entities or social enterprises and provide insights to optimise sales mix and margins.
- Support commercial decision-making with financial analysis and scenario planning.
3. Revenue Generation & Investment Planning
- Develop and oversee revenue strategies that support both charitable programmes and social enterprise sustainability.
- Evaluate investment opportunities, reserves management, and long-term funding strategies.
- Ensure net profits from the social enterprise are effectively channelled to support YWCA's community services.
- Work with the Finance & Investment Committee on investment planning and performance monitoring.
4. Banking Management
- Manage banking relationships, cash flow, treasury functions, and credit facilities.
- Oversee cash management to ensure adequate liquidity for operational and programme needs.
- Ensure effective controls over payments, receipts, and financial authorisations.
5. Systems Management
- Oversee financial systems, tools, and processes to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.
- Drive continuous improvement in finance processes, internal controls, and reporting frameworks.
- Ensure systems support both charity accounting and hospitality operations effectively.
6. Data Analysis and Optimisation
- Deliver timely, accurate, and insightful financial and management reports.
- Translate financial data into actionable insights to guide strategic and operational decisions.
- Use data to identify trends, improve performance, and enhance financial sustainability.
7. Leadership and Collaboration
- Nurture and develop a strong and cohesive finance team for the organisation consisting of accountants as well as sales, revenue and finance managers and executives.
- Act as a trusted business partner to the Executive Director, leadership team, Board, and Finance & Investment Committee.
- Provide clear financial advice and recommendations to support informed decision-making.
- Lead and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, excellence, and collaboration.
- Work cross-functionally to align financial strategies with organizational goals.
8. Others
- Support fundraising, donor reporting, and grant financial management where required.
- Uphold YWCA's core principles of Serving with Love, Embracing Change, Strengthening Communities, and Empowering Lives in all aspects of work.
- Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned in support of YWCA's mission and strategic priorities.
