Head of Digital and IT Services - FMCG/Retail

We are partnering with a well-established organisation to appoint a Head of Digital and IT Services. This is a senior leadership role responsible for shaping and delivering the organisation's technology strategy, with a focus on digital platforms, enterprise systems, and service excellence.

This individual will play a key role in aligning technology capabilities with business priorities, driving innovation, and ensuring the delivery of reliable, scalable and cost-effective IT services across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

You will define and execute the digital and IT services strategy in line with organisational goals, translating business needs into clear technology roadmaps and measurable outcomes.

You will lead the end-to-end IT service function, including service management, platform architecture, and major programme delivery, ensuring strong governance, quality, and stakeholder satisfaction.

Working closely with senior stakeholders, you will oversee large-scale initiatives in collaboration with the Project Management Office, ensuring delivery within scope, timeline and budget.

You will build and develop a high-performing technology team, structuring capabilities across service delivery and project execution, while fostering a strong culture of ownership and continuous improvement.

In addition, you will manage financial performance, including annual planning, budgeting and cost optimisation, ensuring efficient use of resources and long-term sustainability.

Requirements

You bring at least 15 years of experience in IT and digital services, with a strong track record of leading technology functions within complex organisations, including both internal IT and external service delivery environments. You have deep expertise across enterprise platforms such as CRM and e-commerce solutions, alongside strong exposure to data and analytics, automation, and emerging technologies including AI.

You possess a good understanding of technology applications within supply chain environments, including logistics, procurement and planning. You are an experienced people leader with the ability to build, develop and retain high-performing teams, and are comfortable operating across regional and cross-cultural environments.

Strong communication skills, commercial acumen, and a pragmatic, results-oriented approach are essential. A degree in Information Technology or Business Administration, or equivalent, is required.
