About the Role:
We are looking for a highly experienced and creative Head of Design (HOD) to lead our design team and drive innovative solutions that align with our company's vision and brand identity. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills, hands-on design expertise, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and guide a team of designers to deliver high-quality, cohesive, and innovative design work.
- Oversee end-to-end design project management, including planning, budgeting, and scheduling, to ensure timely completion.
- Provide creative direction and ensure all designs align with the company's brand identity and strategic objectives.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Marketing, Engineering, and R&D, to integrate design solutions into broader business strategies.
- Review and approve design concepts, ensuring they meet quality standards and project goals.
- Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets effectively to achieve key milestones.
- Assign design resources based on project needs and individual strengths.
- Communicate project progress and updates to stakeholders, addressing feedback and concerns promptly.
- Stay up to date with design trends and industry innovations to keep the team's work cutting-edge.
- Resolve challenges that arise during projects and adapt to changing requirements.
- Evaluate team performance, provide constructive feedback, and build a motivated, accountable team.
- Maintain organized design records and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Take ownership of tasks with a positive, proactive attitude.
- Perform other duties as required for the success of the company.
Requirements:
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering with relevant experience.
- Proven hands-on design experience, preferably within the automation industry.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating design expertise and creativity.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in design software such as SolidWorks, UG, and CAD tools.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and presentation skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
