Head of Data & AI Governance
Location: Singapore
We are looking for a Head of Data & AI Governance to drive enterprise-wide governance strategy, ensuring data and AI are managed responsibly, effectively, and at scale. This role combines leadership, strategy, and hands-on execution to embed governance into day-to-day operations.
Responsibilities
- Define and lead the enterprise data and AI governance strategy, operating model, and roadmap
- Build and manage a high-performing governance team and federated network of data owners/stewards
- Drive adoption of data governance practices across business units with measurable outcomes
- Establish and implement AI governance frameworks (including GenAI) aligned to risk and regulatory expectations
- Partner with business, risk, compliance, legal, and technology teams to operationalise governance
- Lead governance forums, steering committees, and data literacy initiatives
- Set standards across data quality, privacy, security, and AI lifecycle controls
- Keep pace with evolving regulatory and industry practices, translating them into practical frameworks
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in data governance, risk, compliance, or related domains, with leadership exposure
- Proven track record implementing enterprise-wide governance frameworks with strong adoption
- Strong understanding of data risk areas (e.g. quality, privacy, security, access, retention)
- Experience working across cross-functional stakeholders in complex or regulated environments
- Familiarity with data governance tools and cloud data/AI platforms (AWS preferred)
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution
- Degree in a relevant field; advanced qualifications or certifications are advantageous
