What You Will Do
Metro Asia Customer Development Director, is a pivotal leadership position responsible for driving the strategic direction and execution of channel activities within the Metro Asia region. This role encompasses the management of customer priorities, the development and implementation of the Channel Activity Plan, and the consolidation and review of market plans. Additionally, the Director will oversee necessary amendments and reworks of plans to ensure alignment with overall business objectives. As a people manager, the Director will lead a team comprising the MA E-commerce Lead, Customer Analytics, and Corporate Channel Plan roles.
Lead Sales priority setting, capability development, and execution, partnering with markets to deliver on key Commercial Development priorities including Perfect Store and RGM.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning and Execution:
- Develop and drive the Channel Activity Plan in alignment with the overall commercial strategy and customer priorities.
- Ensure the effective execution of channel activities across the Metro Asia region, including e-commerce, customer analytics, and corporate channel plans.
Market Plan Consolidation And Review
- Consolidate market plans from various regions within Metro Asia to create a cohesive and comprehensive strategy.
- Regularly review market plans to assess performance, identify gaps, and recommend adjustments as needed.
Customer Priorities
- Engage with key customers to understand their needs and priorities, and ensure these are reflected in the channel strategies and plans.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers to drive customer satisfaction and business growth.
Plan Amendment And Rework
- Monitor the effectiveness of current strategies and market plans, making necessary amendments or reworks to optimize performance.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to implement changes and ensure seamless execution.
People Management
- Lead and manage a team of direct reports, including the MA E-commerce Lead, Customer Analytics, and Corporate Channel Plan roles.
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and development opportunities to team members, fostering a high-performance culture.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, finance, and operations, to ensure alignment and support for channel initiatives.
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration across departments to drive success.
Performance Tracking And Reporting
- Establish KPIs and metrics to measure the effectiveness of channel activities and market plans.
- Provide regular reports and updates to the Commercial Head, Metro Asia, highlighting key achievements, challenges, and areas for improvement.
Required Qualifications
What we are looking for
- Master's degree or equivalent advanced education in a relevant field.
- 10-12 years of progressive leadership experience in customer development, sales administration, or related roles.
- Proven track record of managing multiple teams and driving cross-functional collaboration.
- Extensive experience across sales, operations, and category management with strategic integration capabilities.
- Demonstrated ability to recruit, develop, and empower high-performing teams aligned with business plans.
- Strong capability to engage and influence multiple levels of customer management and internal stakeholders.

- Exceptional strategic thinking skills, with the ability to translate complex market data into actionable business strategies.
- Demonstrated expertise in leading diverse teams and managing high-impact projects within dynamic, fast-paced environments.

- Outstanding communication and negotiation skills, capable of influencing stakeholders at all organizational levels.
- In-depth knowledge of the consumer products industry, including category management, brand strategy, and competitive landscape.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to craft and convey complex selling strategies addressing diverse market channels.
- Proficient in prioritizing and resolving competing demands within teams and customer portfolios.
- Leadership style characterized by openness, accessibility, and consistent achievement of positive business outcomes.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office suite, database management, and relevant web applications to support sales analytics and reporting.
