Head of Credit Risk (SME Banking & Real Estate preferred)

Our client, a leading financial services institution, is seeking an experienced credit professional to lead its Credit Risk function in Singapore.

Role

Reporting to senior management, this individual will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end credit approval process, driving sound credit risk management practices, and ensuring a balanced approach between business growth and risk governance. The role will lead a team of credit professionals, provide guidance on complex credit transactions, and play a key role in shaping credit policies, frameworks, and assessment tools to support the organisation's evolving business needs.

In addition to transaction approval and portfolio oversight, the successful candidate will monitor market and industry developments, identify emerging risk trends, and work closely with business stakeholders to ensure the organisation maintains a strong and disciplined risk culture. The role will also contribute to strategic initiatives, process improvements, and portfolio management activities.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess at least 15 years of experience in corporate lending and credit risk management, with strong credit structuring and approval experience. Exposure to real estate financing will be advantageous. Candidates should demonstrate strong leadership capabilities, sound commercial judgement, and the ability to operate effectively in a dynamic and evolving business environment.
