This role is responsible for driving business development, deepening client relationships, and managing credit and operational risks within the Taiwan-focused institutional banking portfolio. This role oversees a team of Relationship Managers, leads client acquisition efforts, ensures strong credit governance, and supports cross‑departmental coordination to deliver comprehensive banking solutions. The position also ensures compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements while supporting strategic initiatives of the International Banking Division.
Business Development & Strategy Execution
- Administer overall business development initiatives and risk control across the Taiwan Desk team.
- Develop business targets, growth plans, and implement annual budget objectives aligned with Head Office and International Banking Division strategies.
- Drive the development of new customer pipelines while actively expanding institutional banking business opportunities.
- Manage existing customer relationships, including monitoring industry updates, client business conditions, and evolving financing needs.
Client Relationship Leadership
- Guide, supervise, and assist subordinate Relationship Managers in developing new client pipelines and maintaining existing client portfolios.
- Ensure RMs proactively track industry trends, client developments, and emerging business needs.
- Promote cross-selling opportunities across lending, trade finance, treasury, and other institutional banking products.
Credit Risk Management
- Ensure team compliance with relevant business rules, internal policies, and operating procedures to manage credit and operational risks.
- Conduct substantive credit reviews and approve credit applications within delegated authority.
- Draft credit rationales, terms, and recommendations for cases beyond authorized power and submit them to the appropriate approval units.
- Countersign collateral appraisals, credit investigation reports, credit terms and conditions, credit review forms, and related credit documents.
- Attend review meetings to explain key credit cases when required.
- Review and approve stamping for foreign credit documents, including collateral setup/cancellation, collection letters, and write‑off documents.
- Sign Facility Letters within authorized delegation.
Cross‑Department Coordination
- Lead coordination, communication, and collaboration between the Taiwan Desk and other internal departments including Credit, Operations, Treasury, Legal, and Compliance.
- Report and manage contingency or operational risk incidents involving Taiwan Desk institutional clients.
Leadership & Team Management
- Supervise, evaluate performance, manage attendance, and train subordinate personnel.
- Oversee staffing requirements, including recruitment requests or arrangements for displaced personnel.
- Serve as proxy for other Team Heads during their business or personal absence as assigned.
Executive Support
- Oversee and execute additional tasks or responsibilities assigned by the superior.
