Job Description

Job purpose:

The Head of Connectivity is a responsible for driving the overall strategy, growth, and performance of the Connectivity business across Southeast Asia.

This role will lead a cross‑functional team comprising Sales Product Marketing Engineers / Managers and Business Development Engineer ensuring strong market positioning, sustainable revenue growth, successful Design‑In to mass production conversion, and operational excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify, assess, and prioritize business opportunities through comprehensive market, industry, and competitive analysis.
  • Define and execute regional business strategies for Connectivity portfolio aligned with Phoenix Contact SEA objectives.
  • Translate market insights into innovative solution concepts, value propositions, and go‑to‑market strategies.
  • Drive revenue growth by setting clear sales strategies, targets, and performance expectations in collaboration with country sales teams.
  • Monitor business performance, review pipeline health, and adjust strategies to ensure sales and profitability targets are achieved.
  • Support development of new customers while strengthening and expanding existing key accounts and strategic partnerships.
  • Optimize and govern sales channels and routes‑to‑market across SEA.
  • Ensure strong cross‑functional collaboration between sales, marketing, application, and BD teams to deliver integrated customer solutions.
  • Build a high‑performing organization through coaching, mentoring, capability development, and succession planning.
  • Foster a performance‑driven, customer‑centric, and collaborative culture across the department.
  • Oversee and govern Design‑In and Design‑Win activities, ensuring early engagement with customers, OEMs, EMS, and consultants.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Development and HQ on innovation, portfolio evolution, and product road‑mapping.
  • Provide structured feedback on market needs, application trends, and competitive gaps to influence future product development.
  • Ensure successful transition from Design‑In to mass production and long‑term revenue realization.
  • Regularly report business performance, risks, and opportunities to Directors.
  • Prepare and present structured management reports and presentations
  • Initiate, lead, and manage regional and cross‑functional projects, ensuring timely execution and clear communication to Management.
  • Act as a key regional interface between SEA organization and Global / HQ stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical / Electronics Engineering, Engineering Management, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 5–8 years of relevant experience in industrial components, connectivity, automation, or related industries.
  • Proven leadership experience managing multi‑disciplinary teams across sales, marketing, application, and business development.
  • Strong exposure to Design‑In driven business models and regional market management is essential.
  • Strategic thinking with strong commercial and technical acumen
  • Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills
  • Ability to operate effectively in a regional, matrix organization
  • Strong financial, analytical, and decision‑making capabilities
  • Comfortable with frequent regional travel within Southeast Asia
