Job Description

Head of Clients and Business Development

The Head of Clients & Business Development is responsible for leading and managing the firm's Sales and Business Development functions overseeing a team consisting of Relationships Managers (who manages house clients) and Account Executives (who source and manage proprietary clients) as well as events executive/s who execute Premium Clients events and in house educational seminars and workshops. He or she is to ensure sales compliance, training and setting of KPI's for the team.

This role ensures seamless day-to-day execution, contributes to strategic planning, and plays a key part in delivering sales excellence across the business, in alignment with MAS regulatory expectations.

The position reports directly to the Country Head, Singapore.

Please note that our Singapore operations are subject to the receipt of the relevant regulatory approvals, and we are currently in the process of obtaining our license from the Monetary Authority of Singapore.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Leadership & Oversight:

  • Oversee the day-to-day performance across the sales funnel, resolve client's issues, execute customer recovery, monitor client's satisfaction.
  • Lead initiatives to improve sales efficiency, resilience, and service quality.
  • Design and implement frameworks and controls aligned with MAS expectations and internal policies.
  • Develop new channels for sales acquisition purposes.

People & Events Management:

  • Secure and organise roadshows, investment fairs, conferences and premium client events.
  • Supervise events management, facilities, and workplace safety.
  • Drive a culture of operational excellence and accountability across all functions under the sales remit.

Cross-functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with Marketing, Compliance and Client Service teams to ensure alignment of operational strategy with business goals.
  • Represent the Clients & Sales function in senior management and strategic planning forums.

Education:

  • Develop and Build Client's Education Programme & Journey.
  • Organise In House seminars and Webinars.
  • Engage external educators and trainers.

Reporting:

  • Engage external educators and trainers.

Qualifications and Experience:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business, economics or a related discipline.
  • Must meet MAS's Fit and Proper Criteria, including integrity, competence, and regulatory reputation/history.
  • Must meet the eligibility criteria to be appointed as a Representative for CMS Licensees, including minimum academic qualification and examination requirements.
  • Good understanding of the MAS regulatory environment, including MAS operational, data protection, and risk requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing teams across Sales and Marketing function.
  • At least 3 years of experience in financial services operations within MAS-regulated firms, preferably with exposure to products such as Securities, OTC derivatives (such as CFDs), Units in Collective Investment Schemes, and Knockout Options.
  • Experience in retail investments, trading and/or retail financial services.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring ability.
  • Capable of handling complex and non-routine compliance challenges.
  • High ethical standards and commitment to integrity and transparency.
  • Resilient under pressure and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in fintech, brokerage, asset management, or capital markets.
  • Knowledge of CRM, ERP, OMS/EMS, and enterprise workflow systems.
  • Experience with events planning, outsourcing/vendor oversight.
