About the Role
Finmo is seeking a commercially driven Head of Channel Partnerships to build and scale our indirect distribution engine globally. This is a senior, high-impact role at the intersection of commercial strategy and ecosystem development.
As a next-generation Treasury Operating System with cross-border payment capabilities, Finmo's product is naturally suited for distribution through professional services ecosystems, including law firms, corporate secretarial providers, accounting firms, ERP platforms, and B2B marketplaces, whose clients need precisely the financial infrastructure Finmo offers.
In this role, you will own Finmo's channel strategy end-to-end: identifying, signing, and enabling the right third-party partners to bring Finmo's platform to market faster and more efficiently than a direct sales team alone could achieve. You will build the commercial structures, enablement programmes, and partner governance frameworks that turn referral relationships into a reliable, scalable revenue stream.
This role reports directly to the Chief Commercial Officer and has a seat at the commercial leadership table.
Key Responsibilities
1. Channel Strategy and Ecosystem Mapping
- Define and own Finmo's channel partnership strategy across global markets, with a clear thesis for which partner categories unlock the highest-value client segments.
- Identify, evaluate, and prioritise target partner ecosystems, including corporate secretarial firms, professional services, law firms, accounting and advisory firms, ERP and SaaS platforms, and B2B marketplaces.
- Develop segmentation and tiering frameworks to differentiate strategic partners from transactional referrers.
2. Partner Acquisition and Commercial Structuring
- Own the full partner acquisition lifecycle from outreach and qualification to commercial negotiation and contract execution.
- Design and implement commercial models including revenue-share arrangements, referral fee structures, and co-marketing incentives that align partner behaviour with Finmo's growth objectives.
- Work closely with Legal and Finance to ensure all partnership agreements are compliant, commercially sound, and scalable.
3. Partner Enablement and Activation
- Build and deliver enablement programmes that equip partner account managers and relationship teams to identify, qualify, and refer Finmo opportunities effectively.
- Define and own the collateral, training materials, and playbooks strategy tailored to each partner segment.
- Define and own the partner onboarding model; drive ongoing engagement to prevent partner attrition and sustain referral activity.
4. Pipeline Ownership and Revenue Accountability
- Own and report on a channel-sourced pipeline with clear attribution, conversion, and revenue contribution metrics.
- Set and track quarterly partner performance targets and proactively manage underperforming partnerships.
- Work with Sales and Business Development to ensure clean handoffs between partner-referred leads and Finmo's direct commercial team.
5. Cross-functional Collaboration
- Serve as the internal voice of the partner ecosystem, feeding market intelligence and partner feedback into Product, Marketing, and GTM planning.
- Collaborate with Marketing on co-marketing campaigns, co-branded content, and joint events that enhance Finmo's visibility within partner networks.
- Partner with Legal and Compliance on any regulatory considerations relevant to referral and distribution arrangements in each jurisdiction.
6. Function Founding and Future Leadership
- This role initially operates as a senior individual contributor and founding team member for the channel function. As the programme scales, you will define the team structure and make the case for headcount to build out the partnerships team.
- Mentor and develop junior partnership team members as the function grows.
Who We Are Looking For
Requirements
- 8 to 12 years of commercial experience, with a minimum of 4 to 5 years in a channel, ecosystem, or indirect distribution role within a B2B fintech, payments, SaaS, or financial services environment.
- Demonstrated track record of signing and activating channel or referral partners that generated measurable, attributed revenue.
- Deep familiarity with the professional services ecosystem across global markets, with existing relationships being a strong advantage.
- Strong commercial acumen: able to design, negotiate, and close partnership commercial structures independently.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, equally comfortable presenting to a C-suite partner and running a practical enablement session for front-line account managers.
- Experience operating in a high-growth, early-stage or scale-up environment where structures are still being built.
Good-to-Have Skills
- Familiarity with cross-border payment products, FX, or treasury management solutions and an understanding of the pain points that drive a CFO or finance team to seek a platform like Finmo.
- Exposure to regulated fintech environments and an appreciation of the compliance considerations in referral and distribution arrangements.
