We are seeking an experienced Casualty Leader to join our Singapore office.

Position Overview: As the Head of Casualty for Singapore Hub business, this role will focus on crafting and implementing the company's commercial distribution strategy, ensuring the efficient and profitable commercialization of products and services through direct and broking channels. It is a crucial role for establishing and maintaining key partnerships, boosting sales, and optimizing commercial distribution networks to expand market reach and enhance customer satisfaction for Japanese, international, and local corporations.

Geographical remit includes but not limited to Singapore and South/Southeast for both Direct and Fac RI Inwards Casualty opportunities, and as further agreed by Head of Casualty APAC.

Responsibilities include:

• Accountable for product ownership and portfolio management of the Casualty line of business for the Singapore Hub, including new business production and renewal retention across a high-growth portfolio.
• Underwrites all liability risks within established authority limits, ensuring compliance with underwriting guidelines.
• Make strategic underwriting decisions on intricate accounts, considering market conditions and company guidelines, with adherence to underwriting processes.
• Monitor the performance of current accounts and portfolios, identifying opportunities for improvement and providing recommendations.
• Monitors all industry and specific account trends. Implements a field service reputation that is recognized as superior in the industry.
• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key clients, brokers, and industry partners.
• Act as a senior point of contact for complex client inquiries, negotiations, and conflict resolution.
• Lead the Singapore underwriting team, mentor and train junior underwriters, sharing knowledge and best practices to enhance the team's capabilities.
• Contribute to the development and enhancement of underwriting guidelines, pricing models, and product offerings.

Desired Skills & Experience:

• Minimum 7 years of relevant underwriting experience in Casualty including WIC for Singapore
• Bachelor's Degree in Finance/Economics background preferred but not essential
• Knowledge in Multinational Programs is an advantage
• Strong interpersonal, communication and leadership skills - to lead a team through periods of change
• Ability to thrive and maintain high performance in a fast-paced, dynamic, and constantly evolving work environment
• Strong relationship skills with proven ability to establish and maintain relationships with stakeholders at all levels, both internally and externally
• Strong problem solving and decision-making abilities
