Head of Asia Credit Trading

We are supporting a leading global financial markets platform with a strong footprint in Emerging Markets (EM) and commodities as they look to appoint a Head of Asia Credit Trading.

This is a senior, handson leadership role for an experienced Asia credit trader to lead, grow, and shape the regional credit trading franchise, with a focus on EM and Frontier EM markets.

The Role:

Reporting to the regional Head of Trading, this role combines active risktaking, strategic franchise development, and people leadership. The successful candidate will lead Asia credit trading activities with a particular emphasis on China corporate credit, CDS, and structured / repack solutions (e.g. CLNs, TRS).

You will play a key role in extending the platform's EM and Frontier EM capability across Asia while supporting the continued growth of its institutional and corporate client franchise.

This is a regulated senior role, operating under the relevant MAS licensing and conduct frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead Asia credit trading strategy, pricing, and marketmaking activity
• Deliver consistent P&L through disciplined risk positioning
• Manage trading risk in line with approved limits and governance frameworks
• Partner closely with Sales, Structuring, Origination, and other stakeholders
• Drive product development aligned with client needs and market opportunities
• Sponsor new business initiatives through formal governance processes
• Uphold the highest standards of conduct, compliance, and risk management

Requirements:

• 15+ years of experience in Asia / Emerging Markets trading
• Proven track record of alpha generation and sound risk management
• Strong technical expertise across Credit, CDS, Structured Products, and Financing
• Deep understanding of EM and Frontier EM credit dynamics
• Solid working knowledge of regulatory and compliance frameworks
• Relevant regulatory approvals (MAS or equivalent), or ability to obtain
• Regional language skills an advantage (e.g. Mandarin)
