Head of AI Strategy & Governance
We're seeking a strategic and technically grounded leader to define and drive the organization's AI governance, standards, and capability frameworks. This role is pivotal in shaping how AI is developed, deployed, and scaled responsibly ensuring alignment with ethical principles, regulatory expectations, and business objectives.
As the Head of AI Strategy & Governance, you will guide the organization's AI vision, embed responsible AI practices, and uplift AI maturity across teams. You'll lead a team of data science and AI professionals, fostering a culture of technical excellence, compliance, and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and implement AI governance frameworks, ethical guidelines, and compliance processes to ensure responsible AI development and use.
- Develop and promote standards and best practices for machine learning and AI model design, deployment, monitoring, and lifecycle management.
- Shape and maintain the AI strategy and roadmap, aligning AI initiatives with organizational goals and business outcomes.
- Lead AI capability development, including training programs, internal frameworks, and knowledge-sharing initiatives to enhance AI literacy and technical proficiency across teams.
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders to identify, prioritize, and enable high-impact AI opportunities that drive innovation and value creation.
- Establish processes for model validation, explainability, and risk management, ensuring AI systems meet quality and ethical standards.
What You Bring
- 15+ years of experience in data science, AI, or machine learning, with proven leadership in strategy, governance, or capability development.
- Master's degree or PhD in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, or a related field (preferred).
- Strong technical grounding in AI/ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) and familiarity with MLOps principles.
- Demonstrated understanding of AI ethics, privacy regulations, and model risk management.
- Experience developing and institutionalizing AI standards, frameworks, or best practices across a large or complex organization is required.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills, with the ability to influence across technical and executive audiences.
