The Role
Our client is seeking a Head (Experimentation) to lead and shape distributed experiments within their Adult Learning Research & Innovation Hub. This individual will apply non-conventional methodologies to foster innovation in authentic learning and workplace settings. The role involves designing experimentation protocols, coaching and guiding stakeholder communities, ensuring ethical practices, and analysing and reporting experiment outcomes in both academic and practitioner-friendly formats.
The appointee will report to the Deputy Director of the Research Division and work closely with the Head of Ecosystem and a team of industry specialists to drive community-based solutioning and experimentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Experimental Research: Design and direct distributed experimentation based on ALC thematic projects, including developing protocols and playbooks to support community-driven innovation.
- Guide Community Experiments: Enable stakeholder groups to design and conduct meaningful experiments in real-world contexts, build their capabilities, and ensure ethical practices are upheld.
- Data & Analytics: Develop fit-for-purpose data collection and analysis approaches, leveraging accessible analytics to generate actionable insights for stakeholders.
- Disseminate Findings: Produce both academic and practitioner-focused outputs, sharing results widely to support the scaling of effective innovations.
- Project Leadership: Manage budgets, outputs, and reporting for experimentation projects within the ALC.
Candidate Profile
- Postgraduate research degree in the social sciences, preferably Education, Psychology, Sociology, Business Management, Human Capital Development, Political Science, Economics, or Industrial & Organisational Psychology.
- Minimum of 8 years experience in research and/or leadership roles within relevant fields.
- Strong commitment to fostering a high-trust, collaborative ecosystem of co-innovation and experimentation.
- Strategic thinking, influencing skills, and strong learning agility.
- Expertise in experimental research and analytics, with enthusiasm for methodological innovation in community and workplace contexts.
- Excellent writing, communication, project management, and administrative skills.
