Our client is a maritime technology startup company focused on improving human sustainability and the welfare of seafarers and currently, they are searching for Head, Corporate Development, who will play a critical leadership role in shaping and executing the Company's long-term growth strategy across the group.
SUMMARY OF JOB CONTENTS
This role is responsible for driving M&A, investments, fundraising, and strategic partnerships, while serving as a trusted advisor to the CEO and senior leadership team.
The ideal candidate brings strong transactional experience, financial acumen, and the ability to operate confidently in high-stakes, multi-stakeholder environments. This role will represent the group with investors, shareholders, and strategic partners, and ensure disciplined execution from strategy through integration.
The position will be based in Singapore.
JOB DIMENSION (SCOPE)
1. Corporate Strategy & Growth
- Lead M&A and strategic investment initiatives end-to-end, including sourcing, diligence, negotiation, and integration
- Partner with the CEO and leadership team to define and execute the group's growth roadmap
- Monitor market, competitive, and macroeconomic trends to identify growth and exit opportunities
2. Fundraising & Capital Planning
- Own group-level capital planning and fundraising strategy
- Lead investor engagement and fundraising processes at group or portfolio-company level
- Oversee investor readiness including financial models, diligence materials, and decks
- Build and maintain a strong ecosystem of investors, banks, advisors, and strategic partners
- Represent the Company at relevant industry forums and events
3. Investor Relations & Shareholder Engagement
- Manage relationships with investors, shareholders, Board members, and financing partners
- Prepare and deliver clear, high-quality updates on performance, strategy, and milestones
- Translate complex financial and strategic topics into compelling narratives
4. Portfolio Company Advisory
- Advise portfolio leadership teams on strategy, capital planning, and growth initiatives
- Support annual planning, scenario modelling, and performance reviews
- Assist with special situations including turnarounds, restructurings, or divestments
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field
- Over 10 years of professional experience in corporate development, strategic finance, or investment roles
- Proven track record across M&A, fundraising, and strategic investments
- Strong financial modelling, deal structuring, and investor communication skills
- Comfortable operating across multiple businesses in a fast-paced, growth environment
- Continuous learning mindset with an eagerness to stay current on market trends, emerging technologies, and innovation in the digital and industrial space.
