Job Description

The Singapore Floorball Association (SFA) is inviting applications for the position of National Men's Head Coach to lead the continued development and performance of Singapore's elite men's floorball programme.

The successful candidate will possess strong technical coaching expertise, leadership qualities, and effective communication skills, with the ability to cultivate a holistic and high-performance team environment. The role is responsible for maximising the performance potential of the National Men's Team and training squad through the implementation of structured coaching methodologies, athlete development pathways, and high-performance systems supporting players from talent identification to international competition.

The National Men's Head Coach will report directly to the Technical Director.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain a high-performance training environment to prepare the National Men's Team for major international competitions.
  • Develop, execute, and regularly review annual training and competition plans aligned with SFA's strategic and long-term performance objectives.
  • Support the Technical Director in the preparation of yearly planning frameworks and budget submissions to achieve targeted national team outcomes.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programmes and provide regular performance updates and reports to the Technical Director.
  • Identify and develop athlete pathways from Under-16 and Under-18 levels into youth and senior national teams.
  • Lead the tactical, technical, physical, organisational, and mental development of national athletes, including providing constructive performance feedback through the national athlete monitoring system.
  • Maintain a positive and effective Daily Training Environment (DTE) while ensuring compliance with safe sport policies and athlete welfare standards.
  • Support the SFA Coaching & Development Committee in coach education initiatives, development programmes, and engagement sessions with CoachSG where required.
  • Participate in SFA events, programmes, and activities as assigned by the General Manager.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum NROC Level 2 Coaching Certification or an internationally recognised floorball coaching qualification endorsed by the International Floorball Federation (IFF).
  • Additional professional qualifications in areas such as Strength & Conditioning, Sport Psychology, or Sport Science will be advantageous.
  • At least five (5) years of coaching experience at elite, national, or premier league level.
  • Experience coaching athletes or teams at major international competitions will be highly regarded.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of elite athlete development and the application of performance data to enhance training and competition outcomes.
  • Ability to integrate sport science and sports medicine principles into high-performance coaching programmes.
  • Demonstrated capability to assess athlete motivation and adapt coaching approaches to optimise both individual and team performance.
  • Good understanding of Singapore's schools, clubs, and local floorball ecosystem.
  • Excellent planning, analytical, and evaluation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with athletes, staff, and stakeholders.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and staying updated on global coaching trends and contemporary floorball practices.
  • Strong work ethic, professionalism, and long-term commitment towards athlete and national team development.
