Job Title: Thai Food Chef
Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled and passionate Thai Food Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in preparing authentic Thai dishes using traditional ingredients, methods, and presentation styles. You will be responsible for creating high-quality Thai meals, maintaining kitchen hygiene standards, and contributing to menu development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook authentic Thai dishes including curries, stir-fries, noodles, salads, soups, and desserts
- Develop and refine Thai menus that balance flavor, authenticity, and presentation
- Ensure consistency in taste, portioning, and appearance of all dishes served
- Maintain food safety and hygiene standards in accordance with local regulations
- Train and supervise junior kitchen staff in Thai cooking techniques
- Source or recommend quality Thai ingredients, herbs, and spices
- Collaborate with restaurant management to improve menu offerings and customer satisfaction
- Manage inventory and control food costs without compromising quality
- Stay updated on trends and innovations in Thai cuisine
Required Experience & Skills:
- Minimum 3-5 years experience as a chef specializing in Thai cuisine
- Deep understanding of traditional Thai cooking techniques and ingredients (e.g., use of lemongrass, galangal, kaffir lime, fish sauce, etc.)
- Experience preparing both street food and fine dining Thai dishes is a plus
- Culinary training or certification (preferred but not always required)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Attention to detail and pride in food presentation
Preferred Qualities:
- Thai national or experience working in Thailand
- Passionate about Thai culture and food traditions
- Experience in menu design and food cost management
- Ability to train or mentor staff in Thai cuisine
