Job Description

Job Title: Thai Food Chef

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled and passionate Thai Food Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in preparing authentic Thai dishes using traditional ingredients, methods, and presentation styles. You will be responsible for creating high-quality Thai meals, maintaining kitchen hygiene standards, and contributing to menu development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook authentic Thai dishes including curries, stir-fries, noodles, salads, soups, and desserts
  • Develop and refine Thai menus that balance flavor, authenticity, and presentation
  • Ensure consistency in taste, portioning, and appearance of all dishes served
  • Maintain food safety and hygiene standards in accordance with local regulations
  • Train and supervise junior kitchen staff in Thai cooking techniques
  • Source or recommend quality Thai ingredients, herbs, and spices
  • Collaborate with restaurant management to improve menu offerings and customer satisfaction
  • Manage inventory and control food costs without compromising quality
  • Stay updated on trends and innovations in Thai cuisine

Required Experience & Skills:

  • Minimum 3-5 years experience as a chef specializing in Thai cuisine
  • Deep understanding of traditional Thai cooking techniques and ingredients (e.g., use of lemongrass, galangal, kaffir lime, fish sauce, etc.)
  • Experience preparing both street food and fine dining Thai dishes is a plus
  • Culinary training or certification (preferred but not always required)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Attention to detail and pride in food presentation

Preferred Qualities:

  • Thai national or experience working in Thailand
  • Passionate about Thai culture and food traditions
  • Experience in menu design and food cost management
  • Ability to train or mentor staff in Thai cuisine
