About the Role
Shun De Fu is looking for an experienced and skilled Head Chef specializing in authentic Chinese cuisine to lead kitchen operations and maintain high food quality standards. We are seeking a chef with strong expertise in traditional Chinese cooking techniques, wok mastery, and regional Chinese dishes, preferably with experience in Chinese restaurants or hotels.
This role is ideal for candidates with a strong background in Cantonese and Guan Dong cuisines, especially those experienced in handling high-volume kitchen operations.
Key Responsibilities
. Lead and manage daily kitchen operations efficiently
. Prepare and cook authentic Chinese cuisine with consistency and high quality
. Specialize in wok cooking, stir-fry dishes, sauces, soups, braised dishes, and traditional Chinese food preparation
. Develop and improve menu offerings based on traditional Chinese culinary standards
. Ensure food presentation, taste, and portion standards are maintained
. Supervise kitchen staff, including training and scheduling
. Monitor food hygiene, cleanliness, and kitchen safety standards
. Manage inventory, food costing, and ingredient quality control
. Coordinate with management regarding kitchen operations and menu planning
Requirements
. Proven experience as a Head Chef / Chinese Cuisine Chef
. Strong knowledge of authentic Chinese cuisine and traditional cooking methods
. Skilled in wok techniques (wok hei), knife skills, soup preparation, roasting, braising, and Chinese seasoning
. Experience in Chinese restaurants, hotels, or commercial kitchens preferred
. Ability to manage kitchen teams and work in a fast-paced environment
. Familiar with food safety and hygiene standards
. Mandarin-speaking ability is an advantage for kitchen communication and coordination
. Candidates with experience working in China or Chinese culinary establishments are highly preferred
