We are looking for a proactive and reliable Handyman to join our team. The role involves ensuring that our school facilities are well-maintained, safe, and functional. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in general maintenance, troubleshooting, and equipment servicing, with the ability to coordinate work across multiple locations.
Responsibilities
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure that building facilities and common areas are well-maintained, safe, and clean.
- Coordinate and prioritise repair/maintenance work across multiple school locations ensure regular maintenance scheduled and executed.
- Carry out general repairs and troubleshooting works (including plumbing, electrical repairs, doors, and furniture).
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes, ensure safety and cleanliness protocols are followed.
- Ability to perform basic equipment maintenance and service is a plus (fridge, chiller, aircon)
- Any other ad hoc duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
- At least 5 years of proven experience in facilities or maintenance work (more experience strongly preferred).
- Minimum Nitec in Electrical Engineering, Building Services, or similar qualifications.
- Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting basic electrical systems.
- Familiarity with general carpentry, plumbing, and minor equipment servicing.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Own transport is highly preferred (transport stipend will be provided).
Working Days / Hours
- School Term: Monday to Friday, 11:00 am - 8:00 pm (inclusive of 1-hour lunch break).
- School Holidays & Ad Hoc School Closure Days: Monday to Friday, 9-hour shifts scheduled between 7:00 am and 8:00 pm.
- May be required to work ad hoc weekends when centres are closed for certain works or repairs.
