Hadoop/ BIG Data Developer

We are seeking an experienced Big Data Developer with strong expertise in Hadoop, Spark, SparkSQL, and Scala to join our team supporting Citi's data engineering and analytics initiatives. The ideal candidate will be responsible for building scalable data pipelines, processing large datasets, and developing high-performance big data solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain large-scale data processing applications using Hadoop, Apache Spark, SparkSQL, and Scala.
• Build and optimize ETL/data ingestion pipelines for structured and unstructured data.
• Analyze and improve performance of big data workloads.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, and cross-functional teams to deliver data solutions.
• Ensure data quality, integrity, security, and governance standards are followed.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues in big data environments.
• Participate in code reviews and adhere to best development practices.

Required Skills

• 6–10 years of IT experience with strong exposure to Big Data technologies.
• Hands-on experience with Hadoop Ecosystem, Apache Spark, SparkSQL, and Scala.
• Strong knowledge of distributed computing and data processing frameworks.
• Experience in ETL development and large-scale data transformation.
• Good understanding of SQL and data warehousing concepts.
• Experience working in Linux|Unix envi ronments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills

• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Experience in Banking or Financial Services domain.
• Knowledge of data governance and data quality frameworks.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
