Hadoop Administrator (Cloudera)

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor Hadoop cluster performance and ensure high availability of services
• Manage incident handling and perform vendor log collection for Cloudera components
• Execute application start/stop and configuration requests as per operational needs
• Collaborate with OS, Storage, Network, and Compute teams for cross-platform support
• Assist in job failure analysis, queue management, and resource allocation
• Perform patching, minor upgrades, and support NiFi template migrations
• Contribute to backup and recovery operations for critical datasets
• Manage user access and security configurations (Kerberos, Ranger, LDAP)
• Support Cloudera minor version upgrades and hotfix deployments under supervision
• Participate in DR drills and ensure synchronisation between production and DR environments
• Monitor platform health using tools like Cloudera Manager, Grafana, and ELK

Job Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience in the Hadoop ecosystem: HDFS, YARN, Hive, Spark, Oozie
• Basic working knowledge of Cloudera Manager and its administrative tools
• Strong proficiency in Linux administration and shell scripting
• Familiarity with Kerberos authentication, Ranger security, and user access management
• Understanding of patch management and platform upgrade processes
• Good troubleshooting, log analysis, and communication skills
• Exposure to Python or Ansible for automation
• Experience with CI/CD-based cluster operations
• Familiarity with AWS or Azure-based Hadoop deployments
