About the Role
We are placing a Guidance Officer at a government primary school in Woodlands to support the school's Student Development Team. You will work closely with the HOD Student Management to provide structured intervention, mentorship, and case management for at-risk students - including those with disciplinary issues, irregular attendance, or social-emotional challenges.
Core Responsibilities
- Monitor and supervise students in in-house suspension and the reflection centre apply restorative processes and teachable moments
- Assist with preliminary investigations, fact-finding interviews, and incident report compilation
- Build one-on-one mentoring relationships with at-risk students through check-ins, patrolling, and targeted engagement
- Conduct parent engagement via calls, meetings, or home visits co-develop strategies with families
- Maintain accurate case notes, weekly/monthly discipline statistics, and referral documentation
- Implement Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) modules for identified students provide in-class support where required
- Liaise with external agencies (FSC, MSF) for referrals as needed coordinate with School Counsellor and SWO
- Perform administrative duties: late-coming records, offence logs, detention monitoring
Requirements
- Must be registered with MOE prior to 2 June 2026 (non-negotiable - applications without MOE registration will not be considered)
- Background in uniformed services (Singapore Police Force, Singapore Prison Service, or equivalent) OR Ministry of Social Service background (mandatory)
- Minimum 3 years of direct experience working with at-risk youth in educational, community, or correctional settings
- Prior experience in a primary school setting is a strong advantage
- Genuine passion for child development and youth work
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills
