About The Role
We are seeking a practical and commercially minded Group Legal Counsel to support all Group-level legal activities across the Group's business verticals. The role will work across the full range of commercial, corporate, regulatory and operational matters affecting the Group, with direct access to senior stakeholders and external counsel across its markets.
1. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide legal support across all of the Group's business verticals and advise on Group-level activities, projects and strategic initiatives.
- Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements, including customer, supplier, technology, software, services, confidentiality, partnership and other business-specific arrangements.
- Advise Group, business and operational teams on day-to-day legal issues and translate legal requirements into practical actions.
- Support Group corporate, transaction, entity-management and governance matters, including approvals, board materials, restructurings and maintenance of corporate records.
- Assist with regulatory and licensing workstreams across the Group's business verticals, including information gathering, application materials, policies and responses to advisers or authorities.
- Coordinate instructions to local counsel and other external advisers across the Group's markets, monitor deliverables and support cost control.
- Support employment, data protection, intellectual property, financing, disputes, acquisitions and other Group legal matters as required.
- Maintain contract records, precedents, matter trackers and clear internal guidance to improve the legal team's responsiveness and consistency.
- Identify and escalate material legal, regulatory and contractual risks promptly
2. Requirements
- Qualified lawyer with approximately 2-3 years post-qualification experience admission in Singapore or another recognised common-law jurisdiction is preferred.
- Relevant experience in a reputable law firm and/or an in-house legal team, with a sound grounding in commercial contracts.
- Strong drafting, analytical and communication skills, with careful attention to detail.
- Able to manage multiple matters, prioritise effectively and work with limited supervision.
- Commercial, collaborative and comfortable working with colleagues across functions and jurisdictions.
- Experience in technology, software, payments, financial services or a regulated business is advantageous.
- Professional fluency in Mandarin Chinese and English, including the ability to review legal documents in both languages.
