The Company
Our client is a Hong Kong listed company with principal activities in hospitality, property investment & development and the provision of management services across the region. They are looking to hire a Group Internal Auditor to be based in Singapore.
The Role
Reporting to Senior Manager, Group Internal Audit, you shall support the Senior Manager in executing the annual Audit Plan and performing ad-hoc duties as required. The role involves conducting assurance, advisory, and special audits to evaluate internal controls, enhance processes, and strengthen governance across the Group.
You will perform risk assessment, applying data analytics, conducting process walkthroughs and testing the effectiveness of internal controls. The role involves identifying control gaps and process inefficiencies, evaluating compliance with policies and regulations, and recommending practical improvements to strengthen business operations. You will prepare clear audit documentation, assist in report drafting, and present findings to management, while also handling general administrative duties and other assignments as directed.
You Profile
The ideal candidate possesses at least 2-3 years of External or Internal Audit experience, preferably from a Big Four or Mid-Tier accounting firm, with exposure to North America and Asia environments and experience in the hospitality sector being an advantage. You should hold a Degree in Accountancy or an equivalent qualification (e.g., ACCA), with professional certifications such as CPA, CIA, CISA or CFE viewed favourably. Strong knowledge of financial and operational audits, the ability to identify control gaps, and solid analytical, critical thinking and attention to detail are essential. You should be self-motivated, collaborative, and proficient in Microsoft Office, with a basic understanding of data analytics tools (Power Query is a plus).
Excellent communication skills in both English and Mandarin are required to effectively liaise with Chinese stakeholders and audit entities/properties in China. The role also requires willingness to travel up to 30% (typically 2-3 trips annually, with each trip lasting between 3 to 5 weeks) and flexibility to work extended hours when necessary.
