Group Director of Sales
Based in Singapore | Confidential Luxury Hospitality Group
A distinctive luxury hospitality group is seeking an ambitious and commercially minded sales leader ready to take the next step into a group-level role across two highly individual properties.
The portfolio brings together two very different hospitality experiences: an intimate heritage property defined by its sense of place, personalised service and residential character, and an established destination resort operating at a larger scale within the international luxury leisure market.
This difference is central to the opportunity. Each property has its own positioning, audience, booking patterns and commercial priorities. The successful candidate will need to understand those distinctions and develop a thoughtful sales approach for each, while creating greater alignment, discipline and shared direction across the group.
Based in Singapore, this is a hands-on and highly visible appointment. It may suit a high-performing Assistant Director of Sales, Cluster Assistant Director of Sales, Senior Sales Manager or Director of Sales from a single luxury property who is ready to assume broader leadership responsibility.
The successful candidate will lead the sales effort across both hotels, oversee the reservations function and work closely with hotel leadership on pricing, forecasting, distribution and marketing priorities.
They should bring strong luxury sales fundamentals, sound commercial judgement, confidence working with performance data and the ambition to develop into a broader commercial leadership position.
The Role
- The Group Director of Sales will develop and implement the sales strategy across both properties, with a particular focus on international luxury leisure business.
- The role requires a considered, property-specific approach. For the smaller heritage property, the emphasis will be on highly personalised account development, thoughtful positioning and relationships capable of delivering the right quality of business. For the larger resort, the role will require a broader view of market segmentation, production, booking pace, inventory, distribution and international demand generation.
- Working closely with the General Managers, ownership, reservations, marketing and operational teams, the Group Director of Sales will strengthen the positioning of both properties, grow revenue from priority markets and develop meaningful relationships with the travel advisors and partners who influence luxury travel.
- The successful candidate will combine strategic thinking with a willingness to remain closely involved in sales activity, account development, team coaching and day-to-day commercial execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute differentiated sales strategies for each property, reflecting their individual positioning, scale, target audiences and commercial priorities.
- Lead the overall sales direction across the group, with particular focus on international luxury leisure business.
- Identify priority geographic markets, customer segments, accounts and partnership opportunities for each hotel.
- Build and strengthen relationships with luxury travel advisors, tour operators, destination specialists, consortia and preferred partner programmes.
- Develop a highly targeted, relationship-led sales approach for the heritage property.
- Drive broader market penetration, account production and segment development for the resort.
- Lead, coach and develop the on-property sales teams and reservations function.
- Represent the properties at selected trade shows, sales missions, roadshows and client events.
- Develop account plans for key partners and ensure disciplined follow-up, conversion and relationship management.
- Work with hotel leadership and revenue support on pricing, forecasting, inventory and channel decisions.
- Review business mix, booking pace, occupancy, average rate, RevPAR, conversion and channel performance.
- Recognise and respond to the different demand patterns and booking behaviours of each property.
- Translate commercial data into clear sales priorities and practical actions for the teams.
- Strengthen direct business and improve reservations conversion, response standards and follow-up.
- Ensure rates, inventory, offers and hotel content are presented accurately and consistently across relevant channels.
- Work closely with marketing to align campaigns, partnerships, communications and content with the commercial priorities of each property.
- Establish clear sales targets, reporting disciplines and accountability across the group.
- Create a collaborative, energetic and commercially focused culture while respecting the individuality of each hotel.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will have progressive sales experience within luxury hotels, resorts or high-end travel and will be ready to take on their first group-level leadership appointment.
They are likely to be currently working as an:
- Assistant Director of Sales within a luxury hotel or resort;
- Cluster Assistant Director of Sales;
- Senior Sales Manager with meaningful team and account responsibility; or
- Director of Sales from a smaller independent luxury property.
They will bring:
- A strong record of generating and converting business within luxury hospitality.
- Relevant exposure to the international luxury leisure market.
- Experience engaging with luxury travel advisors, tour operators, consortia or preferred partner programmes.
- An existing industry network, together with the ability and confidence to develop new relationships.
- An understanding of how to sell properties with different identities, scales and commercial requirements.
- The judgement to distinguish between appropriate business and business that may dilute positioning or rate integrity.
- Experience coaching or supervising sales or reservations colleagues.
- A practical understanding of hotel pricing, forecasting, business mix and distribution.
- Confidence interpreting commercial reports and using data to guide sales activity.
- An appreciation of how sales, marketing, revenue strategy and brand positioning work together.
- Strong communication, presentation, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
- The ability to think strategically while remaining closely involved in execution.
- A willingness to travel internationally when required.
We are looking for someone engaging, polished and credible, with energy, curiosity and an entrepreneurial mindset.
The successful candidate will be commercially ambitious without taking an overly transactional approach. They should understand that success across this portfolio will come from representing each property authentically, developing the right relationships and applying sound commercial discipline in a way that is appropriate to each hotel.
They should be motivated not only by the immediate position, but also by the opportunity to develop into a broader commercial leadership role as the group evolves.
