Working closely with Sustainability Leaders and College Directors of Global Citizenship, a key responsibility is to support change initiatives and further refine what Sustainability and Global Citizenship means in practice across the network.
Sustainability and Global Citizenship at Schools
. Engagements to support sustainability and global citizenship, tailored to suit the needs of each school
. Presentations, workshops, professional learning, mentoring and other forms of engagement for students, teachers, staff, parents and others on sustainability and global citizenship
. Residencies in schools for 1-4 weeks to fully support schools across all aspects
. Supporting Global Citizenship Leads across the network and their efficacy
. Working closer with small groups and individuals in schools to enhance sustainability in their roles
. Observations to find best practice and offer further progression and enhancement on sustainability and global citizenship
. Sharing best practice on sustainability across the network
Engagement with Headquarters and other staff
. Work closely with other staff to support initiatives, events and policies
. Support on sustainability with all aspects of EiM education - admissions, recruitment, building design, curriculum development, parent engagement, etc.
. Setting new levels of best practice in sustainability within HQs and extending out to schools, partners, parents and partners
. Connecting with steering committees and the GEB to report sustainability progress
Broader Engagement
. Speaking at or attending conferences, events and networks to share the work and initiatives of the EiM network
. Advocate and share the initiatives and positive intentions and outcomes from the EiM network more broadly
. External partner engagement, including IFM service providers in schools
. Support for progressing new initiatives and ambitions
. Pursuing opportunities for collaboration with mutual benefit and maximum impact
Adding value in different facets of the organisation to enhance sustainability as needed
Requirements
. Masters/Degree in a related subject
. Ideally a qualified teacher, or with deep experience of providing school support internationally
. Over 15 years experience, with at least 10 years experience in environmental sustainability and global citizenship advocacy
. Expert knowledge and previous experience in carbon mapping and ESG (Environment, Social and Governance) reporting
. Proven history of facilitating change in a school and broader education context
. Outstanding public speaker, fluent in English
. Excellent presentation skills
A global citizen and sustainability expert and role model who inspires with his/her own actions
